Good evening all. 75ºF for the start, partly cloudy sky, breezy. Windy, clouds cleared, and high temp was 92ºF, HI 99ºF. Made coffee to start day, puttered a bit got everything put away from trip. Did take the Peugeot for a ride, after lunch went over to stepdaughter's house found issue with irrigation control and fixed it.. Picked up missed delivered checks then went to credit union cashed check and transferred money to trust account, found out Fidelity had not delivered cash to trust account, put in call, no call back yet. Got chain lubed on Peugeot and front derailleur tweaked. Hope less wind tomorrow.

Coffee is brewing. 70° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 87° with chance of pop up rain and thunderstorms. Yesterdays morning storm dropped 1.21" of rain. Stay in house and stayed cool most of the day. Going to be the same today.

first I head out to ENT office to talk to the lady there who does hearing aids.
Costco couldn't help me, maybe they can.

then home to prepare for Ken coming over to help me install new storm door.
need to put lots of water in fridge, we are going to need it.
I'm going to start unscrewing all the existing screws, will wait for Ken to put the new one in.
pretty sure it will take some shimming and a lot of caulk.
now I really need to find my sweat band...

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...8 hours at part store afterwards got feeling won't be much due to temperature.

Good morning, 69 going to 91 today much like yesterday

Did get more tree planting clean up done yesterday in the upper area. Brought plenty of water and kept the RTV running with AC. Some of the tree shelters were in shreds because they were down and hiding in the grass and the mower got them. Filled the trash can with as much as it could hold and took it up to the curb. The too long shelters had to be cut down to size. The new planted trees ( 3 years old ) are growing fantastic this year and the recent rains did them a lot of good but we are in for a dry spell. Took a picture of a typical oak tree so you can get a feel for what I am talking about.
Almost out of stakes so need to go up to PA mennonite saw mill to get more.

Drew nice to have friends able to help with the screen door. lnstalled two Larsen full glass screen door by myself but it would have been much easier with help

Today out to water early and more tree planting work

70 outside this AM. Heading to 90. Will repeat that weather pattern for a while. Each day with get progressively hotter and more humid. Looks like pool and lounge weather for a while.

Probably will end up in the Milk House this AM. Is like an ice cooler in there. Good thing we kept the concrete walls. Nice and tight too with the new insulation and outside vinyl wrap. Need to work on skim coats in the bathroom area and general tile cleanups.

Grass could use a beat down cut, but with the heat and sun I am debating as to cut it or not.

Ct, 65 to start going to maybe 90 ! This could be tough going here for a couple of days, Thursday being the hottest !

Yesterday had all the grands out in the cement pond ! Well wasn’t that a wild time !

Today, take a long walk early and get a few things done this morning, that should be it ! Fire house drill tonite, hopefully nothing to physical in this heat !

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 4:45AM back here in Yankee Hill. Sunshine to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 91F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
The Red Flag Warning continues until noon today. There are large wildfires burning across the state, the nearest having grown to over 4,000 acres yesterday. I passed through Marysville, CA on the way home yesterday where I found several streets blocked off due to a fire in an old and abandoned hotel building. That led to a miles long traffic jam that took a half hour to work through. No other problems on the trip, and there was still plenty of time to get the rental trailer checked in.

I was awakened at about 2:30AM by scratching sounds on the bedroom floor. They didn't stop when I turned on a light, which revealed a Jerusalem Cricket scampering for cover. It got squished and flushed. Sure wish I could figure out how they get into the house, but at least I didn't step on it in my bare feet.

Plenty to keep me busy in the way of repairs and packing. Need to move a large milling machine next trip south, and I have a new control valve to install and program on the water softener. Also need to get some junk moved out from under the office trailer so I can move it away from the house to where a buyer can easily hitch up to it. That'll probably be job 1 for today.
