good morning, 79 going to 90. It was a nice cool morning though with a slight breeze and some rain is on the horizon we hope

Watered the plants. The deers are nipping at them but hopefully will survive.

Mostly, the stone wall will likely not last another 200 years

The recently planted Red Cardinal Flowers are coming in bloom and saw the first Humming Birds show up to feast

The yellow Stella deOro Day Lillies are also looking good

Have so many pending projects and hard the decide what to do today. Will see

Years ago when we lived in Bullhead City AZ we had swamp coolers. Worked pretty well because the low humidity in that area and being one of the hottest areas in the country

D came in late yesterday. She said it was a Zoo at the airport but the diplomatic line through passport and customs control made for a quick exit

69°F and .18 inches rain

Pretty morning. Looks like I’ll have to take advantage and start another round of mowing.

Nothing really to report on Sophie’s ophthalmologist visit other than he was happy with what he saw. Was interesting that he had another Dr in and he was excited about her condition. One more preop visit before the surgery.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

80F with light rain @ 13:00, WU calling for a high of 81F for the day.

Had some rain come through earlier in the wee hours, dropped 0.32". Still calling for potentially severe storms this afternoon.

Maybe if we get a decent amount I'll be able to aerate the lawn.

Flood Advisory in effect and a Tornado Watch has just been issued.

Got the entire front mowed yesterday, which confirmed how dry it was ... ground was hard as a rock ... a very bumpy ride.

Swapped out the old bag which was full on the Japanese Beetle trap out front for a new one after that.

Got rebar for the tube feeders driven in, in the new location and the the pole and feeders put back up. Also scattered some seed for the ground feeders.

Grabbed the five herb plants and a volunteer tomato from the shelves around back and brought them up front. Woman has decided She will grow the herbs in pots.

So I mixed up another batch of potting mix and got to planting the herbs and the tomato. Woman worked on planting some caladiums.

We blew through the potting mix pretty quickly so I had to make a second batch.

Did some clean up in the garage and collected up some items that needed to go up to the shop, along with the compostables.

Took those and dropped them off and then went over to the compost pile and dropped off the compostables.

Woman wanted to get the peppers tied to the stakes due to the predicted storms so we headed around back and I worked on securing several tomato cages with staples while She did that.

Collected up the now thoroughly-cleaned hopper feeder on my way back up front.

Then more clean up and organizing in the garage.

Broke for dinner, finished up the Chinese which was even better the second day.

Final item was running the Cub over to barn and putting it away.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Dole out another weeks worth of meds.

Get that Australian Timber Oil applied to the now-clean hopper feeder.

Cut and point more bamboo stakes for the peppers.

Some additional clean up and organizing in the garage.

Possibly spend some time up in the shop needle-scaling t posts.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

Good morning! (Late morning since I didn't hit 'post reply'). Low was 61°, heading up to 88°, decent chances for a t-storm through the weekend. Maybe we can get some this time around.... very dry conditions. That 1/4" previously was just a tease and didn't last long.....

Great puppy pics!

A quick pic of the ash throated flycatcher chicks. The nest is getting really small for 4 chicks. Hope no-one falls out!

Mama is taking care of them herself. Her mate was seen with an injured wing after the hail storm last week. He could barely fly. Haven't seen him since. They apparently both feed chicks, so she's constantly feeding.

Prepped a meatloaf this morning to be put in the smoker this afternoon. If you never had smoked meatloaf.... you are definitely missing out!

Inside day today, conserving energy, waiting for rain.

Have a great day!
