Good morning!!!!

Good Morning!!!! 71F @ 5:45AM, back here in Yankee Hill. Sunny. High around 100F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

No problems with yesterday's return trip, until I got to U-Haul. Checkin was OK, but they wouldn't rent a car trailer if I was gonna use the Promaster to pull it. Not enough hitch capacity. So I'll dust off the Ford this morning, fix a loose speaker wire, top up the oil and tires, and use that. It only has 260,000 miles on it, what could go wrong? It's currently loaded with the remains of the back porch shack, so first order of buisness this morning is a trip to the dump.

Neighbor wants to come over later and pick up the rest of the steel shipping pallets. And someone else is willing to drive two hours to pick up a pallet of firewood. At $90 for a little more than a quarter cord, they'd be the first buyer if they actually manage to show up.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

picked the garden, cukes hiding like mad but found most of them.
I like them small, cold and crunchy.

now going to run gen in rv for a few minutes and then change the oil.
gen is very quiet so no issues on Sunday morning.
I think I have put two hours on it since I got it. just wonder how prior owners used it to rack
up 184 on the 4kw generator. I think they drove down the road with gen and a/c on. Or did a lot of boondocking, but since they were an older couple,
I'm betting that wasn't it.

tomorrow I will change engine oil and will carefully pack away oil and filter for a change on the road.
With diapers and funnel and oil filter wrench all packed in the plastic oil pan

Good morning, the low is 52 and going to a high of 63°F. Wind N 18 gusting to 25 mph. 40% chance of showers. Raining now.

I woke up to a phone call from the guy that busted himself up yesterday. 8:45 I overslept. But then again I didn't go to bed until 1 A.M. He still says he has a busted pelvis and the dispatcher says multiple leg breaks. The hospital says "flat on yer back for at least 4 weeks". Cant even get up to go to the potty. Oh, he's going to absolutely love that.

Because of the rain I will be going back down the you tube rabbit hole. Monday is a holiday and will be sunny, but I will NOT be going to town on the mower. Discretion is the better part of valour.

Those beans look good, Drew.

Have a safe day all

Today , sink drain to unclog and time to glue up the table.

Father not making progress and not really trying :-(
Dog walk in town done. Time to get some work done.
Be well,

Good morning! Low of 58°, heading up to 86°. Cloud cover right now, good chances of a T-storm.

Finally, last evening, had a good storm. Radar showed the heaviest rain just missed us by about a mile, but we still got 3/4". Just 2 miles away got almost 2 inches!

Haven't spotted any outdoor damage, winds were a little gusty, but we have had far worse. Will take a walk around a little later to check.

The meatloaf turned out great in the smoker. Took almost an hour longer, but it was bigger than usual. Left overs tonight.

Some more piddling is in store today, don't even know what piddling, but I'm sure I can find something.....

Everyone have a great day!

66°F and 0 rain.

Great day mowing yesterday. Finished up just as my body was sending the message “it’s time”. Some time off from mowing.

Need to attempt some garage attention today. That will involve a trip or 2 to the dump.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

74F, breezy, and mostly cloudy @ 13:00, hit 75F earlier which should be the high temp for the day.

No further storms or rain developed yesterday and we remained stuck at the 0.32" that occurred in the wee hours.

A disappointment to be sure ... :(

Next opportunity for rain will be this coming Wed - Fri.

The north winds and cooler temps bring some welcome relief however.

Got meds doled out first thing yesterday and then worked on getting the Australian Timber Oil applied to the hopper feeder.

Think I've got that pretty much done, although I probably need to take a fresh look at it in the daylight and see if there are any spots I missed or that need touched up.

After cleaning:

After oiling:

IMG_3328 copy.jpg

After that it was "change of plans" ... since it became apparent that any further rain was unlikely.

Retrieved the large live trap from over in the barn.

Back to planting more of the "Slenderette" green beans I had soaking. Think it was another 35 or so seeds ... and that still didn't finish out the two rows.

I did also get the rest of the straw mulch put around the Sunny Boy tomatoes at the end of the row and gave the entire row a 20 minute watering with the soaker hose.

Also did a little pruning and caging on some other tomato plants, along with caging the northernmost blueberry plant.

Today I'll work on getting the row of yellow wax beans planted.

May get the okra that has come up in the ground, along with some beets.

Woman plans on watering since it didn't rain.

All the watering seems to be paying off.

Peppers and tomatoes:

IMG_3322 copy.jpg

Broccoli, cabbage, and the cayenne peppers:

IMG_3324 copy.jpg

Probably try and get the east side mowed as it is overdue.

Plus whatever else come up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)

good morning all
.55 on rain gauge, wish it were twice that but more showers later today.
house feels humid inside, no surprise since it's foggy outside, need to turn down a/c to
get the humidity down, about 75 out now
need to catch up on indoor projects today, looks like a good day to do it.

no one is going to put away my socks but me............
as I'm reminded almost daily of all the things my wife did for me
hug your wives today, never take her for granted

July 4th holiday is coming up, always a favorite of mine. Last year I was in Michigan, this year I'll try to see the fireworks
over the River here. I'm glad we got some rain, and another shower later this week. Otherwise fireworks would set off a
lot of field fires

Amend to that, Drew. Sophie just constantly amazes me. Having almost lost her twice, I never forget. I am blessed.
