Good morning!!!!

good morning all
Ron please send that rain this way; looks like storm went North to you instead of East over this way.

another hot day, no plans, need to pick veggies this morning, have some yellow squash to pick while they are little.

Mostly I continue to be amazed by your wonderful recaps

let's all be careful in the heat.
Some of us aren't spring chickens any more... not me of course. ;)

time to get dressed, fed, and once again go out and water.

had a nice visit with my old friend yesterday, hard to see him confined to a wheelchair for rest of life.
They have now just sold two houses and moved into last one, a senior community nice home. Which i think smells horribly
inside due to plastics and chemicals. I said nothing for sure...
his son is driving to Delaware today to buy an 86 inch 8k tv for their wall, I think six grand for that.
they do like their toys, out of my financial league. But if he has to basically sit there, might as well have good tv.
Sadly the drain on his wife is enormous. She is still running their coffee business, so the income continues, while selling two homes,
buying another, and taking care of a totally dependent husband. So I try to help out as I can.
That could be me in that wheelchair...

I think what bothers me at the core is my friend is ok with being very dependent. He won't get a car with hand controls, he won't learn to cook to help
his wife, she has to make every meal every day for him. I worry about her health too.

Popgadget, your plane pics are awesome, you know I hate heights and won't fly but I love the pics...

Here’s a picture I took in Omaha over 20 years ago. I took some people out there to meet with the Union Pacific about locomotive parts.

that is one big hunk of hot steel
one million pounds I wonder if the rails flexed when it went by
mighty heavy load on an old trestle bridge
modern locomotives average 400,000 pounds for comparison

Good morning, the low is 65 and going to a high of 70°F. Wind NE 5 mph. 40% chance of showers.

I am glad and sad at the same time. Glad I checked with the MTO (the people that control drivers licenses and what you can and cannot drive on the road). Ride on mowers are NOT allowed on the road. Yet I see lots of people in town on them. With my license suspended I am not allowed to drive anything on a public road. When I get my license back (after I jump through their hoops) it will be a 'G' license and I will have to start from scratch to get the 'A' back. Fat chance of that happening.
I was going to downgrade my license after next season, so I'm downgrading a year early. Big deal.
I still have a job, just not driving big trucks.

Not too much going on until Beryl gets here. I don't think we will be affected by it much. If at all.

Those old steam locos are an awesome sight. It is good that Big Boy got rebuilt and is still running.

Not much planned for today. Might cut the grass, might not.

Have a safe day all

77. Hit 99 yesterday, only? 95 today. No rain here in a while...grass has a nice suntan. Bushes and garden shriveling up, even after watering. It's summer!

the resin is much more finicky to work with, but lasts longer than varnish by years if done right.
A bad pour/layer would be extremely difficult to remove, if it can be removed at all.

Resin can be much thicker and is harder, so less chance of damage once dried.
Sanding Resin is more difficult to get a sheen than varnish. I proved that last night on the back of the table removing some overspill.

Hard to use a brush on resin (plastic spreader), easy with varnish.

Resin is more likely to have tiny bubles the larger the surface, need a heat gun to disperse.
Good info. Add a layer of fiberglass and it sounds like you are building a surfboard. I bet it's gonna be beautiful.

Nice pix, Popg.

It's vet day for Della (and me)...should be getting a couple of shots including rabies. Likely mix in a dump run and hike at the battlefield forest on the way.

Nice pix-- thanks! I've been lucky to live in towns with good locomotive museums. Carson City, NV is not far and it has a very good locomotive museum. The craftsmanship is outstanding both on the engines and the passenger cars.

Northern Nevada broke a record yesterday-- 4 straight days of 105F. Over 100F again today. At least we don't have humidity-- when I read 90% humidity ... well ... we are no where close to that.

Everyone have a great day !!!

Good Morning,
Ct, 73 to start going to 90 again ! Heat and humidity prevail !

Paul, beautiful picture of that beast ! Wow !

Promised Kathleen I would water her garden this morning. Yesterday I trimmed some rhododendron bushes, didn’t last long doing that , just too hot !

Not a lot planned today , although I believe we have two of the grands over for this afternoon! Will probably get some pizza for dinner, they usually like that !

Hey Don, how are you doing with your German lessons ? I finally broke down and payed for a year of the Super so I could continue to learn after I went through my 5 hearts ! 😉😀

Hope all have a great Wednesday! 🙏

Bill, hmmmm, how about a street legal golf cart?
looking for a loophole...

what nice news back from hydraulics place I took the rv leveler cylinder.
all fixed for 148 bucks. What a good deal, obviously curious as to what they found.
headed out to pick it up shortly. Same day service, what a delight.

If Bill lived here he could be driving a golf cart in the neighborhood which includes a clinic, physical therapy, 2 restaurants, bar, convince store, bank, post office, gas station, Walgreens, real estate office, swimming pools, activities center, etc....

Good morning! 70˚F heading to the mid 90s W wind becoming a E wind. No rain for next 10 days, irrigation system on for our once a week allotment. Glad we got that inch of rain last week but we still feel cheated that Beryl did not give us a drop of rain.

Sitting under the veranda with kitty Hospice he really likes napping all day under the table outside.

Several projects to do - need to test the new ring doorbell out today and if it does not detect motion and give us an alert it will have to be returned also. Spent another hour with customer support yesterday rebooting/checking settings and it worked while on the phone but stopped when I tested it later. If I have to take it back I will have to buy a different brand and loose my half year of paid service that I had left over from the old house. I will also have to find compatible plug in cameras.

Scotty I have not done German for months, I'm a drop-out. Just too much stuff going on to have a clear learning environment.
