Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 9:00AM Areas of fog early, becoming sunny this afternoon. High around 75F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

Drew, Santa Fe, NM has some great restaurants . There's also a plaza downtown that used to have vendors selling hand crafted American Indian art and jewelry. Tons of other galleries, too. Been a while since I've been there, though.

There are also the Taos and Acoma pueblos in the Albuquerque area that are worth seeing.

My friends recommend going to Ireland late August into Sept for the best weather. They say late may or early June might be ok also.
I’m thinking I’d use the info the tour company has and try to book my own.
For $4k each they drive you around the island on a bus, and provide hotel which comes with breakfast. Not sure what a car costs to rent for 2 weeks, but can’t be $2k. Yea, they do tell you about the stuff you ride by.

They don’t include airfare. I priced direct flight from DC for $800 - $1k coach. Only 5 hr flight from here.
I’ve driven all over England and Scotland. In Scotland every town had a visitor center where they could book you a room for the night, just tell them where you want to stop for the night. Wonder if they still do that.
We stayed at some nice places. Most were old large manors turned into hotels. One place in Oben Scotland it was someone’s house, a true B&B.
That was before GPS and cell phones. Had to use paper maps while driving on the wrong side.

That reminds me, wonder what happened to the guy from wales that used to be on this thread.

Not a bad day at all! Considering that a stray T-storm woke me up just before midnight last night. Loud as all get out, but only got .18" of rain. Wasn't even in the forecast.

I figured since the guessers predicted a 60% chance of showers today, I could guarantee some rain if I started cutting the field...... 3/4 the way done, dark clouds forming.... finished mowing, put the loader back on, and tractor put away. A couple claps of thunder, 10 drops of rain, and all done! Disappointing to say the least.....

On the plus side, all the trimming and mowing is done for a few weeks. All good!

Tomorrow, I 'm going to tackle ripping out the last Cholla cactus on the property. It was the biggest and put out a lot of bright red flowers.... too bad.

IMG_1388.jpeg
If you just brush up against one and an entire arm of super sharp needles will bite you big time! I barely touched one arm with the tractor back tire.... flung the cactus arm right into the back of my arm! Then had to use needle nose pliers to dig out all the needles out of my arm and the tractor tire!

It's life expectancy is now very short! Once it dries, I am hoping I can get an arm "skeleton" straight enough to make a cane.

IMG_1389.jpeg

Don't know how long it will take to dry out....

Ran the drip irrigation on a slight abbreviated time schedule, hoping to get a good storm.

Another project to work on tomorrow is to troubleshoot the garden tractor.... cut the area over the septic field (50'x 150') then along the drive.... suddenly died. Wouldn't start unless I poured a little gas into the carb. Fuel pump is working, apparently all the safety crap is working since it will run with the gas pour. Thinking I'll check the fuel line from the pump to the carb, not getting fuel ??? Maybe crud in the carb??

I'm hoping it's something simple like just some crud blocking a line....

I asked a young tech savvy friend what to get
for an outdoor camera, solar powered, no monthly fee and TPZ
he suggested this:

any thoughts?

If my older Eufy’s any indicator I’d say great option. Expandable both interior and exterior.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 62° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 81° with a few clouds. Got a total of 2.9" rain from Beryl. Lots of wind and power outages. Internet was out most of the day. It is back on today. Homes East of me on same power lines have no power. Apparently crews need a lift truck to get at fuses on a pole in woods next to my place. Dr. appointment was good. Will start PT next week. Grocery shopping this morning Then picking up tree branches and moving them to chipper pile.
Growth on rotting tree stump.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

Good morning all,
76° now with highs in the low 90’s, cloudy this morning, winds SSW 10-20 mph, dew point already at 70° and rising.

Western and northern parts of the state took a pretty good beating yesterday and overnight, hope all are ok.

Only definite plan for today is take truck in this morning for an oil change and inspection sticker 🤞after 15 yrs of New England salty roads it’s getting pretty rusty underneath lol.
The usual water the garden and try to keep cool.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

72 going to 91...had a "soft" thunderstorm last night...meaning we didn't get the best part with all the rain, but got enough for me to mow today,

Don, I sorta dropped out of French class (Duolingo) when we got Della. Still plan to re-engage...really enjoy it. That photo with Hospice looks like a 5 star hotel.
