it's that time of year, the tomatoes are coming in

Good Morning,
Vt, 66 to start going to 81 with some low clouds, but the good news is no rain ! As I understand it, Ct is getting some rain so we are in a good place today !

Plowhog, wow that thing is huge !

Thomas, prayers for you with a quick recovery ! 🙏

Don, that bird probably ate the tree rat ! 😉

I think I already mentioned buying a 15" Powermatic planer
Kyle, I always admired the Powermatic Planer ! I have an old Grizzly Planer 15” that does a good job but would love to own the Powematic ! Does that have the indexable carbide inserts for the cutter head ? I’m guessing that goes for a pretty penny !

Was hoping for more sun for our company but no rain and will make it work !

Buppies, sorry no sleep, hope tonite is better !

Randy, sometimes it’s good to do nothing ! I don’t seem to have that problem ! 😉

Hope all have a Good Friday ! 🙏

BEF don't forget to figure in the return air. In my old house each room had a return air grill in this older house there is one in the master bedroom and three others in various hallways. This helps maintain a constant temp through out without hot and cold areas.

Mostly, all the roads in the hood are city roads and the golf carts are legal. No license plates (or fees) required.

Good morning! 71˚ clouds this afternoon will keep us out of the hundreds with a S wind.

Various project today but mowing the yard and trimming some of the 99 hedges is on top of the list.

Ring seems to be working after Ring support changed a setting on the iPhone, but will try a few test today. Still can't figure out why google maps has my house blurred out.

I'm thinking of leasing the area behind my house for $1, from the Community Assoc. as there is a special provision for this. but first I have to come up with a plan on the landscaping. There is a small piece that I can see the road and I want to plant a visual barrier. July and August are too hot anyway to play outside so I have a few months to contemplate.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 5:15AM. Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 77F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

This new place is in the 'burbs, Drew, but so far I've seen opossums and raccoons in the back yard. Knock on wood none of them have found the trash can yet.🤞🏻

Glad to read that you and Jr. are getting along OK without you being able to drive, Bill. Any such thing as Uber or Lyft up there in case you wear out his legs?

More rearranging in the garage yesterday, but still not happy with the result. The mill was in a corner up north and that was a very efficient and out of the way place for it. Three of the corners here have doors on one side, the last corner has the water heater. Couldn't block any of them with the mill, so it ended up next to the door into the laundry room, about four feet from the wall out in the middle of everything. Had a bit of a scare when I saw that the head was still tipped over at a 45° angle and that it was sitting under one of the hanging shelves. Had to remove one of the 2x4 supports from the shelf to let the head go completely vertical, but there's not much weight on the shelf and the head ended up with a few sheets of typing paper worth of clearance above it. Had to use the rope winch to move the mill into position, and had to install a screw eye into the wall to provide an anchor. For some reason it wasn't rolling easily on the lengths of 1/2" pipe I used up north, so maybe the floor down here isn't as level?

The giant Big Boy locomotive came down the Feather River Canyon up north yesterday. Kinda wish I'd been up there to see it, but from all accounts the traffic was a mess with all the train spotters chasing it. I wondered at the wisdom of running a coal fired engine on those tracks at the peak of wildfire season, and a new wildfire broke out near Railbridge Road, but thank goodness it's no where near the tracks Big Boy ran on.

More rearranging today, then BBQ pizza with friends tonight. And a trip to the grocery store and Costco some time in between.

TGIF gang!

Still can't figure out why google maps has my house blurred out.
Here's some info on how people are blurring images of their house in Google Maps, Don. Unfortunately, once blurred, there doesn't appear to be any way to UN-blur the photo, as is the case here at the new house.

Don, yes, need to size returns properly also. I have 3 returns upstairs and I ran numbers on them also.
Bigboy burns oil, it was converted.

Next week will get hot again. Looks like rain will miss us again today, think I’ll buy a trash pump, and start pumping water from the creek for the garden. Better save my well.

I have various leak detection tools, the sniffer is the least helpful, my go to is the ultrasonic listener-

And the next most used is the simplest and cheapest-

Yep, I have a quart bottle of hand spray leak detector sitting on the shelf. I had to get a new bottle when I had some new gas lines run last summer and couldn't find small bottles easily.

I wonder if there is someone in witness protection under the blur, and I don't mean Don...

got the storm door cut up and it fit into can just fine. Bosch jig saw with metal blade had just enough
reach to cut all the way through.

then put new water filters in the rv, good thing because the one coming out had a punky smell to it, from sitting
in all this hot weather.

not happy to find the cheesy dining room table in rv has split its top, just vinyl over mdf it looks like.
So I need to either put another layer of wood on top, as thin as I can buy it, or perhaps even fake wood vinyl.
would be nice to have real wood there
hmmmm, who do I know that knows how to build a table?

would need a serious planer to get conventional wood thin enough.
I have no experience with veneer. Wondering whether wood look vinyl, but better than what's on there now,
would be useful alternative.

Shot Spotter?
What is a shot spotter, is that the device that is used in the cities to try and triangulate were a shot is fired from? If so I would have to say not likely here and this is the first one I have seen around.
