Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 74 going to 86 and cloudy.
All packed.
Dog off to kennel today.
Lots of deer sleeping in the back yard in the tall grass (which I need to cut once I clean out the rest of the rocks and Ash tree parts) they can all hand in the front as that's only got some trails and I leave it for the wildlife otherwise.

Can't wait to see what you do with the apple wood Phil.

be well,

Nicest motorcycle I ever had was a Norton 850 Commando. Wasn't the best at everything, but was powerful, sounded great, and handled well.

Forecast back to 100F today. Aahhh, it was nicer in the low 90's. Rigby and I just enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the sun come up while it is cool.

The 12v compressor mod for the motorhome refrigerator requires a 10ga wire from the battery to the refer. Pulling new wire like that is kind of tricky with motorhomes-- but that's today's project.

Everyone have a great day !!!
better fuse that wire
could you have gone to output of converter?
assume you are going to house batteries
I always try to go one gauge heavier than they state as minimum. 10G sounds good
But only if a higher draw unit and that fridge will flow some amps I bet at 12V.

Whenever I had a trip to Huntington when I had to wait, I would always get lunch at Griffith & Feil. It’s an old pharmacy with a soda fountain and food. It’s easily over 100 years old.
thanks, it looks very cool
and not rv friendly, downtown

Good morning, 77 going to 84 with a small amount of rain overnight

Kyle, happy birthday

Worked some more on the tree plantings yesterday. Removed a bunch of shelters and staked quite a few. Wore the shop pretreated jeans and shirt to not pick up ticks.

Lovely evening on the balcony with lots of deer grazing with twin fawns to look at.

Thank you all for the birthday well wishes. Pretty much kicked back the whole day. Went to get SUV annual tags updated, but the computer glitch affected the tax office.

Drew, have to laugh, would not consider a new vehicle without a sun/moon roof. Open ours most trips unless raining. We rarely turn on ac.
We need a/c and less sun here 9 months out of the year.

Drew, worked on balance. Holding feet one in front of other. I think I have good balance. I do but doing this exercise for a minute requires lots of foot motion to stay standing straight up. I did 4 different of this type of exercises. Plus different walking exercises. I have 4 other foot exercises at home to do 2 times a day. Therapist noted that when sitting or laying down bad foot is always pointing in instead of out like right foot. It’s a heredity thing. All the men on my mother’s side of family tended to walk pigeon toed. I will work on it. But it Took 82 years to get were left foot is at today. My foot did hurt after therapy yesterday. Today foot feels better than it has in the morning.
Hope it continues to get better, thanks for sharing.

Good morning! A cool 70˚ this morning with an E wind heading to the mid 90s.
Yesterday was suppose to be a take easy day but my wife was ready to mow the yard and start putting away the garage stuff in the new cabinets.

She said she could see no bruising on the ribs so I was good to go, (as long as I don't cough or laugh). We got the yard done without too much pain but she had to help a lot adjusting the height of the shelves and we got about half finished putting the stuff away. This morning we will finish off the garage, yea!

Kyle hope you had a good birthday was that pic of the cake from a magazine or was that the actual cake?(y)
That was the magazine pic, but here's the real deal.

Good Morning!!!! Already 79F @ 7:15AM. Sunny. High 107F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Yesterday when I went out to work on the water softener, I found water leaking onto the base of the 2500 gallon water tank. Turned out to be the feed line from the tank to the pressure pump, leaking at what appears to be a bronze back flow valve. There's a PVC slip to threaded union there that might be loose, or maybe cracked. Went into town yesterday to get a replacement, along with fittings to add a union to the water softener brine discharge line so I can finish that project. So no work on the water heater tank yesterday.

A nice couple did come pick up a pallet of firewood though. They'll be using it for camp fires this summer. I thought to myself that's a rather extravagant price to pay for camp fire wood, but I guess not if you've been buying those little bundles at the camp site.

Saw 109F on the outside thermometer on the van on the way into town yesterday. Needless to say, it was an inside afternoon when I got back.
Drew, have to laugh, would not consider a new vehicle without a sun/moon roof. Open ours most trips unless raining. We rarely turn on ac.
To each their own, David. I've read so many reports of leaking sunroofs on various cars, I wouldn't dream of having one. Ruled out several Camrys last year for that reason. The cause seems to be clogged drain lines, BTW.
Norton is coming back
Norton in name only. Not unlike Indian or Triumph.
...very important they transfer the same leaking gaskets to the new models...
As soon as I started using YamaBond to seal up the engine on my Commandos, Drew, the oil leaks stopped. I never understood how Gasket Cinch, what I used to use, could seal anything, as it was petroleum based!
norton_850_calaveras.jpg

This 850 Commando was built up from a basket case, and got flown to England for a month long tour that included the races on the Isle of Man. Coldest, wettest, trip I ever made.
nothing better than a brand new or just sharpened saw chain, particularly in hard wood.
Only if sharpened correctly. First time I took chains to a dealer for sharpening they took half the tooth off, and burned every one. They cut well for a few minutes, then were as dull as when I took them in. Purchased a nice Oregon sharpener and learned to gently bump each tooth and not burn it.

Gonna play plumber today, so I better get movin' while it's still cool. If you consider 80F cool.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend...

Ron, get out the big lens for tonight
Moon is full and two stars are extra bright

nice visit with MIL, she looked pretty good, made me drinkable instant coffee and
appreciated the tomatoes and chocolates I brought her.

UPS due in shortly with my new rv table. Will look forward to building that and putting it in to see how it fits.
about half a mile away it seems

neighbor next door doing complete gut job and the sound of the circular saw is beginning to wear on me.
house sat empty for two years, finally being worked on. Tiny place like this. He paid for that new sand mound and we've all
wondered when he will start the work. Pretty sure he will flip it. Am guessing 1100 sf for 600k...I think he paid 350
He's a contractor and is over there doing part of it himself. Not a very friendly or sociable person.

Went out today to grab some logs out of the woods that the power company cut down. Pretty dry and it's firewood. Very little humidity and pushing 80, perfect day for it.

70°F and 3.63 inches rain. Kinda wet. Not sure where it all came from, not in forecast.

Fortunately I was able to get some stuff done in the morning, a plumbing repair at cottage and mow at cottage.

Splurged for a late lunch with Kirkland crab clusters. They were worth it.

Not sure what the day will bring. Guess it depends on weather.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Your hoe is a lot heavier than you are.
Only by a smidgen....lol

Worked out. Had to dig out the far side to fill in the ditch and make smoother transition.

Rest of the wood I'm gonna have to use a chain and drag towards road. Too sketchy and too many dead trees the logs are up against.

It's solid birch so worth the extra work. My kid sells the firewood to help pay for her hockey, besides, any new scenario I can learn from to operate the little machine better. With its small size, I gotta work smarter

Looks good. It is good to be able to dig your way in and grab large trees and back it out. Swing it to the side and you have a smaller foot print for getting the log out of there. It is a treat to use my KX033 for these activities. Getting stuck I can always use the bucket to drag it out

very pleased with this
beautifully boxed, I have a little speaker box now, all nice (thin) finished plywood.
definitely solid cherry and only one marginally sanded corner.
too heavy for me to put in rv, up those stairs and tight fit. Might have to unscrew the legs.
friends coming after lunch tomorrow, one being a long time furniture dealer, just who I want for this job.

if my friend doesn't want the plywood box for any purpose, perhaps
Popgadget can build in 16 woofers for me. Almost all the staples had popped, might need a little glue
to hold together for those low notes...

RNG, nice Commando. Yamabond #4 is what they use to assemble engine cases together. It is a "semi-drying" sealer.

Went to help son with cutting the grass. LT180 wouldn't start. Took a bit of troubleshooting, but the pickup tube in the fuel tank had fallen off. It had cracked and fallen. No fuel, no start. need a straight 1/4" x 6" tube. Found some poly on my shelf. It will work for now. Also need to replace the 2020 battery, which has failed to hold a charge.

stretch of road I could use some input on.
heading out I go through WVA and Kentucky.
The little green icons are my stops.
have nothing scheduled in this area.
looking for places to stop for lunch, see something interesting

never been a horse person so a field of Kentucky thoroughbreds isn't my thing despite the beauty.
I'm thinking rolling fields of Kentucky should be similar to rolling fields of Virginia.
this is where I use google maps to zoom in and then click on museum, or zoo or aquarium.
sometimes if you slowly zoom in and out different labels appear with different info, whatever the mapmaker
felt worthwhile. Google controls it all in some way and very likely profits enormously from the control of data.
I'm not a battlefield person either, sadly plenty of those. But cannons are good...

this shows the going out and coming back meeting point, route 81.
hope to be seeing Buppies and then my brother in VA on way home.

if there is any particular local food I should be eating, that is always good to know.
I will be stopping about once a week at a supermarket. Ability to park easily dominates where I stock up.
not sure we have anyone from this area til I get to PJS in St Louis.
If I'm missing someone obvious, sorry.

enjoy the rain Buppies, wish we got some more
know that route.... Especially I70 across I68 and I64 to Lexington.
Cumberland MD - Eat at Puccini's, right next to I68, easy on and off. Good wood fired Pizza. Large parking below it.

about 10 miles east of Morgantown, visit Coopers Rock. short distance off of I68, has room to turn at the end and a larger gravel lot near the paved parking lot. only a few feet walk to the overlook......
I79 between morgantown and Charleston is pretty boring to me. Nothing too particular to see.
Nothing much over to Louisville either that I stop at. SE of lexington is Fort Boonesborough. You can cut south at Winchester KY, see it, then head up I75 and catch I64 again at Lexington.
North of Lexington is the Ark Encounter, but you need a day to see it.
I have not driven I64 West of Louisville.

Happy Birthday Kyle,
Nice Table Drew.

Breakfast with the crew today.

Did a little troubleshooting on the AC unit, compressor starts, then I get a lockout. go to test mode, it displays FP2 as the cause, which is Air coil low temperature. if low on freon, my understanding this would cause a low temp here.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 1.1C and it's presently the same! It's clear and calm. There was 12.5mm in the gauge @ 0700.

As per usual I'm off to Church in about a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.
