While bush-hogging I managed to disconnect the electrical connector at the bottom of the fuel tank for the fuel gauge sending unit of my 5205 tractor but after reconnecting it the gauge still doesn't work. With the connector apart and the two female pins shorted by use of a couple of small nails the gauge needle goes to Full. With the connector apart the resistance between the two male pins of the sending unit was about 22 ohms with the tank roughly half full and then decreasing to about 4 ohms after I added a few gallons of diesel so it seems there is something wrong in the connector. I bought a new connector and some female pins but I can't figure out how to remove the original female pins from the original connector. The connector is a PED 48 but it seems this company has been bought out by another. Does anyone know how to remove these pins from this connector? Is there a special pin remover tool available and if so, what is the part number? I'll attach a photo of the new connector and a female pin.
