What do they hunt there? I've heard the turkey hunting is good in Florida. But I've never heard anything about the trophy quality of the deer there.
LOL there aren't to many trophy class deer here in Florida, but there are plenty of them and they still eat good, turkey hunting is excellent and we are South of I-10 so most of these birds are considered Osceola's, this particular piece of property is surrounded by large scale agricultural operations mostly peanuts, corn and soybeans which is nothing but an all u can eat buffet for the deer.

North Florida has some pretty good deer, although it's probably a smaller percentage of wall hangers than many other states. Deer, turkey, hogs, ducks, gators, small game, coyotes, bobcats, otters. I would say most of the serious hunters (with money) in FLa take 1 of 2 approaches. Either they have a lease in S.Car/Georgia/Kentucky, or they have some pretty intensive genetics/herd planning. Extreme end of Mr Linemans county, into the next county south, there are many 10,000s of hunting/timber land, and they import better genetics.

A quick search finds a fair number of 150+ scored typically, and a handful of 200+ non-typicals, through out north/north central/North east FLa, not counting what many refer to as LA (lower Alabama; panhandle)

Also, within 50 miles of me, I can think of atleast 3 or 4 exotic high fence operations.

150 is a good buck anywhere in the country. I've only deer hunted in the Rocky Mountain states. I've owned my land here in East Texas for 20 years, and I've never shot a deer here. My wife has shot a few, and it's more fun to see her get one. But they are all pretty small and not very interesting to me.

It's interesting what's in other areas of the country.

Been taking out an old fence line down one side of my own driveway and due to years of using an offset harrow on that field I had a large hump that I decided I would try to knock back down and still leave my driveway higher than the field so yesterday I jumped on that and got it in pretty good shape unfortunately when I finished yesterday afternoon I happened to hear my pump running and knew something wasn't right and sure enough it was spraying water out of a small hole at the very bottom of the galvanized tank, fortunately I had another exact tank in my pile and I had used unions on the galvanized fittings so I was able to change it out in a couple of hours. Did some skidsteer work today that I will try to post some pictures later.

Mr. Lineman, do you ever encounter property line location arguments between adjacent land owners?

You want to come do a job just west of Branford? I need some trails cut on my property using a skid steer mulcher.

I'm thinking sometime mid-late September timeline to start.

Do they decide how wide an area that you are going to clear? Seems to me that it should be wide enough to get a tractor in there and be able to turn around while keeping it mowed.

Occasionally , I did one just a few months ago for a customer that I have been working for, for a couple of years and noticed that the 30 acres that joined him had sold and the new owner was mowing on the other man's land, so I told him that he was about 125' or so off the property line and he was actually mowing on my customers side, he was pretty friendly and told me the realtor said the old fence line was the property line, anyhow I had drove steel T-posts about every 100 yards apart on the property line and one at each corner of the property, so I showed him the corners and where the property line was and he was thankful and always stops me to shoot the bull for a few minutes and bring me a cold drink when he sees me over there working. Most people tell me to cut over on their side as far as I want.
