F210 Forte
Hello,

Ive just brought a Yanmar F210 Forte. There is a lever on the Footplate, RHS, yellow cap on end of lever (lever next to lower RH leg), this lever is next to Diff Lock pedal.

This lever slides up and down in a range of approx 10cm. It operates a linkage that is mounted on the RHS of the transmission, the linkage rod goes forward, operates an electric switch and moves a shaft across the frame. The lever linkage pivot bolt has sheared off the transmission and the lever is not working. Does anyone know what this lever does ?

Thanks

Fun mystery! Looking online, I see what looks to me like a multiple speed PTO (though it's confusing so I'm not at all sure). Could your lever control PTO speed?

Thanks..(y) On this model, the PTO speed is controlled by a lever on the LHS of the Cab. The lever in question seems to slide the main steering shaft transverse by approx. 15mm. Ive added some photo that might help.

Does your tractor have rear remotes? That could be what it operates.

Found a video online where they show a close up of the lever and the sticker. Using Google Translator on the phone, I managed to translate and it shows: "high grip turn".

The way I read it, makes me believe is the same feature as the "Bi speed turn" on the Kubotas. Essentially, spins the front axle at double the speed to turn faster. This is only applies once the front wheels are turned up to certain degree, don't know the number exactly.

Furthermore, Lever down is engaged, lever up is disengaged. I imagine it may turn a light on the dashboard as well.

Here is a video showing that feature:

Some of these grey market tractors have some crazy features for how small they are.

Interesting. I hope maybe ptsg nailed it. Should be easy to test.

About the photo, it shows a tall rectangular depression running vertically just aft of your lever, as if a sticker is supposed to be there referencing the lever. The sticker would have come off in your case. I wonder if replacement stickers or lists of all the labels (like my machine manual has) would provide clues?

Hello pstg.

I believe you have hit the nail firmly on its head. That makes a lot of sense, the shaft adjusts the steering input and the switch the front diff, increasing steering when required. Well spotted. Thanks 🙏
