Good Afternoon
Beautiful day here today, got all the mowing done, except inside the pastures, which didn’t need it.

Slowly putting away all the tools that I had out to plumb the boiler room. I’m not moving as fast as a i could, my friend that was visiting from LA seems to have brought us all C19. Daughter tested positive first, then my wife and finally I did this morning. None of us are particularly sick, but not a lot of collective ambition.
I was supposed to play at a festival this evening and had trips tomorrow and Monday. I got a sub for all of those things rather than be a Typhoid Mary.
We figure that he got it on the flight from LA, it’s a shame he came to the east coast for a wedding today, he is gonna be in a hotel room instead. We told him he might as well come back to the leper colony with us, but he didn’t accept the invite (yet).

The roof is on the old folks home (except around where the chimney goes).

The plumbing is complete, including the frost proof silcock and supplies. Need to do the wiring for the hydronic zone valves and zone controller, the move on to the zone controller and dampers for the forced air system, as well as run all the thermostat wires.

Transfer switch for the whole panel and surge protector for the condensing unit are installed as well.

Fortunately my symptoms seem to be a mild congestion and lethargy. Hopefully this is as bad as it gets.
Get well soon.
What's the device on top left, with supply on top and return on bottom. and then the next device with the black knob on top that also connects in and out?

good afternoon, beautiful day 85 and sunny

The Mitsubishi mini split is fixed and working fine again Actually there were no defective or broken parts and all that was done was clean the head unit. The filters were cleaned every month but still the blower wheel had a lot of build up limiting airflow. I will clean the filters more often. Easy to do. Also plan to clean the unit myself next time. Not difficult but rather tedious.

Planted more flowers for wife and I think she may be done. It makes her happy to look at the results.

Did some more tree planting work. Suspect due to lack of rain the yearly tree ring when cut will show 2024 as a close spaced one.

Scott, yea the minix is very handy. It is used very little actually for digging but more for scraping, lifting, pushing and even gardening. The proficiency has improved dramatically and it can be controlled very accurately. The blade is handy for scraping and leveling. Lifting capacity is impressive. I had a backhoe for the tractor but sold it.

Good Afternoon,
Phil what an amazing job on that shot glass ! So did you hollow out the inside first and then make a plug for the shot glass with a center to be able to turn that 3/16” stem ? Very fine work indeed !

Paul, plumbing and electrical look top notch ! More importantly I hope your symptoms are mild and you get over it quickly!

Drew, sorry to hear you made a wasted trip to Ken’s ! Hopefully next time !

Hope all have a lovely evening ! 🙏

Thanks, RS. I will be using a nutrient solution. Will initially try both bush and climbing with some sort of support. We had a volunteer climber that gave use great yield. It supported self just climbing the wall.

Good Evening Frits,

Frits, just wondering how you go about cleaning your mini split ? I have the Fujitsu unit in the Ct home ! All I have been doing is cleaning the filters by washing them and then allow to dry ! Do you use cleaner spray for the coils and blower wheel ? And if so do you use one of those bags to catch whatever comes through the unit ?

Thanks for your input ! 🙏

Got lucky and found appropriate fittings for plumbing modification. Not a matched set, but doubtful anyone will notice as the spigots are 10 ft apart, 1 inside, 1 outside the structure.

Olympics is competing for my time - and winning.

At least I don’t need to go to HD, but still meeting friends.

Sorry about the C19 Paul, get betta soon.

You do such neat, professional looking work 🤙

What's the device on top left, with supply on top and return on bottom. and then the next device with the black knob on top that also connects in and out?

The silver cylinder is a hydraulic separator, magnetic filter & air vent. Resideo HydroSep.
The device with the knob is a thermostatic mixing valve. I want to keep the loop temperature around 80° or less, because that is lower than the lowest set point of the boiler, it complicates things.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 4.2C and it's presently 6.0C, heading to 12C. Clear and back'n'forth between calm & gusty. There was 1.5mm in the gauge @ 0715.

Second coat of stain applied yesterday.

As per usual, I'm off to Church in about a half hour and then the rest of the day is His. I've been 'tagged' as this Morning Prayer leader, so I must've done well last month... once you're 'in', you're 'in', eh?

That's about it, take care all.
