Is it common practice for a dealer to charge for trucking to deliver a new tractor and pick up the trade in? 6 months ago i traded in my Massey Ferguson 1533 for a new Kioti 4210 se HST. The reason I got it was I was tired of plowing snow with no cab, I’m getting too old for ruffling it in the cold.

A month ago there was a problem with the fuel gage on working. I was told It was under warranty and that there would be no charge to fix it …..but it would cost $200 for trucking. Then I just had a problem with a bad fuel water sensor. Again it was under warranty and it would cost $200 for trucking. I ended up fixing both of these problem myself. The fuel level sensor I didn’t have to pay for but the fuel water sensor I had to pay for with the stipulation that since I would intall it would not be under warranty.

This dealer is really piss’n me off and I wonder what they would do if there was a major problem with the tractor. They are so inconsistent with their cheapness.

I've only had one problem with the M6040. I didn't even know it was a problem. A service tech shows up at my house one day. The step on this model tractor has shown a weakness. He wants to replace it with a new, heavier step and a side brace. No service charge - no charge for the new step.

Yes - there is definitely a difference in dealerships.

As oosik stated, there is a difference in dealerships, but I’ve also noticed a trend during the past few years that they are charging for pickup and delivery now. This is the case for multiple dealers I’m familiar with.

This dealer will deliver new tractors free. They will pick up and return your tractor, for warranty work - no charge.

Yes - there is definitely a difference in dealerships.

The only reason to be pissed would be if they told you it would be hauled for free for repairs under warranty.

My tractor came with a sticker stating that neither the manufacturer nor the dealer were responsible for transport costs for any reason.

They delivered it free (100mi one way).

I did not. My assumption was that I just spent close to $30,000 on a tractor and attachments that I would get at least some kind of reasonable customer service. Seeing also that I bought the Mf 1533 from them also. Which they did a free delivery of the new tractor and one warranty repair that had to be trucked at no cost to me. Again they have problems with their inconsistent policies and customer service.
It now looks like i’m going to have to invest in a trailer for the tractor so I can get the tractor fixed when and if it needs fixing.

Free pickup and delivery for warranty work is at dealer discretion. The OEM company in most cases doesn't cover pickup and delivery for warranty repairs.
