Scary how quickly that can happen. One reason why I have 2 fire extinguishers on my tractor.

I was going to put one on but I couldn’t find a suitable mounting spot for anything besides a baby one. That would have been better than nothing but probably wouldn’t have salvaged it.

Glad you made it out ok.

How much time did you have to get out of your milk crate of death?

I never liked the fact that the only alternative exits are under the load, over the load, or out the back window over the engine.

At least the main door opens up instead of swinging out.

That is scary. The 75-3 is a really nice machine. Let us know when you find out what caused it.

Amazing how quickly things can go wrong. So glad nobody was hurt!

Hmmm...so growing up, did you ever get in trouble with your Dad for ruining anything of his???

Seriously, glad he got out OK!

Machines can be replaced, not so much Dads...

Local guy used a Cat CTL for forestry mulching. It caught fire in the woods on a job. Thought he had it extinguished with his fire extinguisher, but it caught back on fire and burned up his CTL and the expensive mulching head, too. He was pretty careful about keeping his machine clean. That was a sobering conversation that made me lose interest in owning one.

That really sucks! I'm pretty adamant about safety, including fire extinguishers. But you point out a good point that some of these pieces of equipment don't have a good place to mount one. It really should be thought out in the equipment design.
