good morning, 69 going 86 with sunny conditions

Trimmed some up high tree branches in the upper tree planting area to give more light for the young trees. My shoulder is not happy this morning.
Today will do clean up and move the branches down to the meadow area

Not sure when but would like to visit the old steam train yard and shop not too far into PA. The repair shop for the narrow gauge locomotives is all intact and original. The shop is powered by a steam engine driving overhead shafts and pulleys for the machine shop.

Good morning! Low of 52°, going up to 82°. Cloud cover now, left over from a short storm last evening. Only 1/8" in the gauge. 70% chance of severe storms today and tonight.

Going to hold off on the drip irrigation in hope of more rain / storms today. Can always "top off" if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate.

Didn't get all the trimming done, just too wore out and hot. It will get finished today.

First up is to cut the field again. It grew at least a foot and has gone to seed. Prime opportunity to cut with just a bit of moisture to keep the dust down. Then with rain moving in, maybe the seed will grow.

Riptides, take a deep breath.... hope you can get through the pending situations easily. Congrats on daughter's home purchase.

David, stay safe and dry. My guess is that you don't have to worry about flooding being up on the hill. Does the water catchment system have an actual overflow?

Scaredy, sorry to hear you're still going through all the troubles. Good that you got a visit in with family.

Scott, glad the Zturn is meeting expectations!

Gotta get moving....
Everyone have a great day!

Morning to all,
Been a some what busy week here for me. A bit of repair parts for my nephews round baler and then the past week has been the Washington County Fair. One of my brothers has a couple of small tractors to tractor pull with occasionally I will drive one of them. Did so in the out of the field class Friday morning in the 4500 pound class. He got a second place with his tractor (WD45) and I got around a 6th or 7th with his other WD45, with a pull of 194 ft, he got 242 ft with the tractor he was driving. We had a bit to much nose weight on mine.

Have to see if this link works; a 30 second video of the little Alliis,

After I pulled I went over and sat in the bleachers with one of my daughters and we watched the rest of the morning? classes, started at 10AM and concluded a bit after 4PM so they could reprep the tractor for the heaiver classes that evening. The morning pulls started at 4500 pounds and went up to 10,500 pound tractors.
Got me a bit to much sun sitting on the aluminum bleachers got my arms face and nose quite well sunburned.
Going to be a lazy day for me, may run up to one of my daughters and pick up the little utility trailer I let them use.

Morning all, 73 going to 87 and sunny,

Took the brushcutter out and cleaned out quite a few autumn olive and berry brambles. 2 tanks of gas later was a bit tired.
Then off to an orchard to get some cider and chill out to some music.

Got oil to get some changes in, but then filter did not show up yesterday. Could have just bought one while out, the Amazon puzzle. Now says Tuesday. Need to change walk behind snow blower, splitter, lawn tractor, chipper before the cold sets in.

Good to see you back for a visit Scaredy, sorry things aren't moving faster for you, keep positive. And Happy birthday.

Mostly, I have down a lot of long rides, but never that hot. Glad it went well.

Lou, havn't watched a tractor pull in years, fair here is too small for that.

Be well,

More ash drops in the back area. More cleanup to be done.

dropped my house plants off at friends
skunked at auto parts store, no fuel filter in stock
he said more and more vehicles don't have one.
Really? with direct injection?
I would think filtration was important but ?
I'll try NAPA tomorrow.

now to start loading clothes in rv.

David, does your generator come on during these overcast days?

83F and partly cloudy @ 13:00, calling for a high of around 87F for the day. DP 68F, HU 71%, "feels like" temp = 87F.

AC ran 10 hours less July this year compared to 2023 ... (y)

Yesterday ended up being a pretty lazy day, got a nap on the couch while The Woman had golf on tv ... lol ...

I did go over and check live trap, bait stolen, did a further modification on trigger rod and re-baited, need to check it today.

After I woke up from the nap I worked on doing some sorting and clean up out in the garage Have some stuff I need to haul up to the shop today.

Got wooden cart moved into the garage and used it with the sorting.

Took dump cart around back and hosed it out.

When I went back to get it after it dried there were 4 deer near the back corner of the garden (but not in it) - a doe, a yearling, and 2 white spot fawns, chased them down on the Cub and they scattered into the woods.

Woman worked on processing tomatoes, got most of the fully ripe ones done, finished those up this morning. Still have some more to do once they ripe up a little more.

I spent the evening on the couch and ended up falling asleep there last night around midnight watching The Blind Boys of Alabama on PBS and slept until almost noon today. Was pretty tired.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Schedule a couple of bills for payment.

Refill hopper and 2 tube feeders.

Replace batteries on watering timer and give tomatoes another shot.

Possibly harvest some peppers.

Check live trap.

Haul stuff up to shop, get the new parts washer moved out of the way so I can get the Kubota in there tomorrow.

Since winds are light and rain chances low, probably see if I can get another couple gallons of glyphosate sprayed where needed.

Maybe prep hosta and get some of that planted.

Otherwise see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)

good worship this morning.
Since the usual Italian place is closed for their vacation, one of our usual lunch bunch invited a bunch of us to their house for lunch after church, so most of the same people. Ate out on their covered porch, where there was a nice breeze blowing. Nice time.
tonight is hot dog roast after PM service.

We are camping up near East Broad Top RR this fall, plan to go for a ride.
