If you would have read some of the posts in the link you would have educated yourself and not look like a fool.
I read them an it still doesn't make sense. Go out to your ice engine and wearing a pair of gloves to protect you from the heat.

See if it sucks or blows out the tail pipe.

The only way for the exhaust to suck anything into the head, is if the exhaust valve is hung open. And it's not open long enough to draw a piece of catalytic converter into the cylinder.

Crawl under a truck and actually look at where it's located. It's mounted low.

They did list in your link that the exhaust "manifold" cracks.

More than likely the exhaust manifold being cracked is the cause and its allowing crud to get into the head.

A new thread on TeslaMotorClub that may? be part of the complaints with "reliability" if FSD supervised/ autosteer is included since the cars can support it and autosteer is an included cruise control. It would be interesting to know if FSD supervised/ autosteer complaints are counted

Not to dump on Tesla's FSD Supervised but,...
I had the same hard braking on highway 95 in a particular location at least 3 times both during the free FSD trial and using autosteer and also understand the OP's concern of what would happen if a loaded semi is behind the car and it decides to panic brake. I also reported it in the bug report as well at the time. Next trip through that area I intend to see if after almost 2 years they have fixed the bug. The car also braked in that area just using the autosteer cruise control.

I do hope Tesla solves this or updates google map errors that are possibly causing some of these braking events.

My braking events occurred at a major state hiway realignment area, but it was completed a long time ago.

Anyway the recent trip thread first post for a Tesla Model 3 owner on TeslaMotorsClub

  • "Moved form California to Idaho. As part of that move, I decided to drive my Model 3 performance from Orange County to Idaho. This is a fairlly long drive, so I decided to enable one month's worth of FSD to help me along the way.

This is the first time i had tried using FSD on a long road trip, and sadly it will 99% likely be my last. Here is why:

At first, things were going well. The car drove well (I'm actually a big fan of the Model 3 Performance's handling) and was comfortable and enjoyable. Then, seemingly for no reason, the car would slow down for no apparent reason. I didn't think more of it, disengaged FSD and got back up to speed and re-engaged it. A couple of hours later, this happened again and I - as before - disengaged and re-engaged FSD after having gotten back up to speed.

The next day was the longest of the 2: I was driving from Bishop, CA to Star, ID. During this second day of driving, the same symptom as the prior day was still present and got increasingly worse. For example: about mid-day, I was on I-80 in northern Nevada, heading north. The car went into full regen for no reason at all, and then back up to speed.

  • The final "straw that broke the camels back" was that same afternoon: I was driving north on US-95 north of Rome, OR using FSD. The car suddenly went into full panic braking (not just regen) and I had to step HARD on the accelerator to avoid stopping in the middle of the road.

I didn't use FSD for the remainder of the trip.

I use the autosteer cruise and it is really Good overall, but actually agree with the poster, Tesla needs to figure out and fix whatever is causing these rare braking cases where the road is totally clear and vehicles are travelling a full hi-way speeds.

Newish Tesla's are great cars overall, Perfect no. What was it Arthur C. Clarke used to say, ? the perfect machine will not be built until it has no moving parts, then computers were developed. Perfect software and chips , No.
OK, he's a bit on Google Maps. My wife and I move into newly built rental neighborhood after we sold our home.

It took about a month after we moved into the home before Google Maps had the street listed.

I did an address correction using a pin drop to correct my home address.

What I didn't know, was Google Maps had every house on our street listed as the mailbox pedestal down the street.

Well my correction changed the location of every home on my side of the street to "MY" address.

I still didn't know this.

Then door dash showed up to my house.

Then over the weekend, I had three more door dash orders show up to my place

Then some lady pulls up and starts unloading groceries in my driveway so I talk to her and explain she must have the wrong address.

That's when she said Google Maps took her straight to my driveway.

I ask what the house number was, and it was for a house half a block down

That's when it clicked about the address change.

It took Google Maps about a year and a half to list each individual home

Wow, Df you just solved the mystery with my Model Y . I did not know Google used the mail box as the determinative locator of properties!

Thank You.

That makes sense. Our box is on the opposite side of the road and my car wants to have me drive into the neighbors location. Did a new pin drop as well no change. Rural postal drivers don't have time to do both sides of the road so all boxes are on the North of an East / West road.

The your destination is on your right, Shure gets old when I need to turn left to go home.

I didn't know it either till the door dash fiasco

I lost count of how many times I found someone's lunch or dinner sitting on my doorstep when one of my neighbors did a contact less delivery

I finally had to put up a sign by the front door

I think with your Y, it's a little more involved then just the mailbox. I have to seek a lot of rural addresses in areas I don't know with my job, so I'm constantly using Google Maps.

Even when the mail boxes are all on the same side of the road, Google Maps will tell me if the place I'm looking for is on the opposite side of the road from the mailbox.

I think EV's would have a better chance of garnering acceptance if their batteries were as universal as your typical ICE starter battery instead of being proprietary between companies and models.
You know, I think exactly the same thing is hindering adoption of cellphones, laptops, tablets, and battery power tools!

Just another environmental disaster caused by EVs. Look at the toxins produced by this fire as a Rivian factory burns in IL.

Boo boo hoo.

For some reason this is only an environmental disaster because it is an EV factory. Forgetting things like Deepwater Horizon, numerous refinery fires, fertilizer plant fires, grain mill fires, or even a fire at a J.M. Smucker Peanut Butter Plant.

You have to realize Ning, that when your debating with Tradasaurus your debating with a person that honestly believes in the flat earth concept, so his gullibility to watch and believe any yahoos conspiracy / missinformation video is high up there. But his posts as comedy entertainment is a positive. ;)
I think you all are feeding the douche (Tradasaurus). Amazing that the mods haven’t shut this down based on his insults to other members. No way to get a two way dialog with Trad and Grumpy (the alias egos).

Amazing how many factory fires there have been since January 2020

Don't worry, we'll forget about ...
... whatever it was
soon enough
