68 in East St Louis going up to 90 today.
Paul/PJS is coming over at 8am this morning and we are going to
St Louis zoo when they open 2 hours early for the holiday weekend.
Perfect for us, get in early to beat crowds and heat later.
I hope to rent mobility scooters for both of us, that way can see more.

I did see they have a spot where you can buy some lettuce and feed the giraffes. That sounds like a good photo opp

hoping this will be a fun day and good distraction for Paul, who has been through a terrible time at home with stepson's injury.

discovered a train line right behind the campground and it ran all day and night long. Must be a lot of freight that goes through here. Train noise doesn't bother me at all. Truck noise and motorcycle noise do. Couple of yahoos in this campground with big bikes and loud mufflers, like to announce their coming in. I really like the idea of Quiet Area signs...
everyone goes 5mph here. NO reason to accelerate your motorcycle up the little roads just to make noise

I met the campground host when I came in, nice guy, fancy new truck, plus there is night security here. Much nicer than I thought it would be, all good

Supposed to be a bit of a cooling off coming.
Monday only high 60s.
Maybe I'll dig into all the jobs I've been putting off because of the heat and mostly humidity.
Time to start the Fall projects before the snow starts to fall.
I know it's a ways away but for a master procrastinator it's just around the corner.
AC was on yesterday but hopefully go a week + without. I do prefer an open window except when Pepe comes by.
Speaking of another "job" to take care of.
Enjoy the Labor Day weekend and may all problems be little.

Good morning, the low is 66 and going to a high of 70°F. Wind SW 12 gusting to 20 mph. Showers.

By the time I find my 'get up and go' it will be about noon or so. May get at the rear work light today. The area for the platform isn't prepped yet. The weeds need to be cut down and a tarp put down so the weeds don't come back. I am building this platform strong enough so I can park the tractor on it when I put the BH on and take it off. When the hoe is on the tractor the BB and rock bucket will be on the platform. You might say it is 'dual purpose'.

Almost sugar checking time and breakfast.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning,
Milford,Ct, 70 to start going to 80 with overcast skies ! Accu Weather is showing a 50% chance of a shower but we never got the storm last night that was predicted!

Drew, hope you and PJS have a good meeting at the zoo ! Hopefully the weather cooperates.

Bill, the idea of a nice level pad for your BH and other implements sounds like a great idea ! One that I’ve thought about for awhile now !

Ron, nice cardinal picture this morning ! One of my favorite birds along with the Blue birds !

Paul, hope your flight to Maine went well yesterday!

PJS, hoping you our son is improving! 🙏

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Good Morning.
71° 97% RH and overcast. A few spits of rain, but nothing measurable. High of 82 and continued grey is forecast.

Yesterday was reasonably productive. Installed the ceiling fan and HVAC registers in the ceiling of the big room.

They were the last tasks requiring the bakers scaffolding two sections tall, so I was able to take the upper section down and put it away. Today I hope to get the speakers installed in the ceiling and dispense with the scaffold completely.

I got the wall penetrations for the propane, heat pump and hydrant closed up with duct seal on the outside, and then foam from the inside. Also discovered w 12” section where the water lines ended up in unheated space and were uninsulated. The foam contractor didn’t follow my instructions to keep them in the heated space. By placing the barrier above them. I’m glad I found them when I did I was able to bury them in foam. Hopefully that will work.

Next project was to make the mantle on my friends sawmill.

Today’s goals are to get the speakers in the ceiling and pick up the mantle that is still sitting on the sawmill. If I get those done, anything else will be a bonus.
