I get the idea that power bills should pro rate the basic service rate into the ev charge because service is needed to hook up the cars connector. But also think I have been paying that charge for well over 30 years and not once has the bill been the base charge, so is it really fair to penalize the EV using the service?

Do you have a separate meter from your utility dedicated to EV charging?

Oh, Sorry, just the fact that our Co Op electrical has always had a a monthly minimum charge ($30 now) to have electricity and includes I believe a couple hundred KW per month. The money is used for basics like line maintenance.

Just saying I have never ever had just a "minimum charge" because my electrical uses are far above that for decades before even getting and hooking up an EV. Actually Hooking up to the power (pole, wire, stand, meter) was about 9k
If I had to do that solely for the EV I would think twice for sure before buying an EV.

ps. penalize was probably a poor word choice. Maybe more fair that it share in some type of pro rate of the $30 a month maybe even the install of the stand and meter especially for someone putting in service only for an EV

What I always wonder, when flat-earthers try to argue against gravity, is what do they suppose is holding them onto this flat earth? And if it's some magic "we just stay down", then what is "down", and what keeps celestial objects from falling?

Commie-la is not leading any but in the leftist polls. Republicans notoriously do not answer our phones when pollsters are calling.

I haven't had a land line for 10 years. Got rid of it because it was always scammers or some poll for this or that. And always just as I was sitting down to dinner.

I've almost clicked on a couple "polls" but then thought it was a scam so I chose to avoid it.

I've asked before on this site and a couple others if someone has actually taken a political poll, and the answer is always no.
