The Christmas tree farm is inundated with rodents this year… never happened before.

One theory is the unusually wet winter last year.

Now things are very dry and in search of water/forage.

We had the reverse with ground squirrels this year.

I think that many of them got flooded out over the winter. The population was way way down, though coming up now with teeny tiny ground squirrels.

There are too many pocket gophers on my property.
I caught over 1500 in the last 14 years surrounding my house.
Without getting rid of them, no way of gardening unfortunately...
It is my duty to hunting it every morning

We have a few of the native wood rats (pack rats), but they don’t seem to harm the garden. Gophers and ground squirrels are the menaces. The pack rats build stick nests under trees and bushes but I don’t see too many of them.
