Thank you.No, I would just keep calling you an ignorant fool.
Coming from someone who thinks the earth is flat makes that a humorous compliment

You need to learn a bit of physics and electrical engineering motor theory.
You have no idea.
You funny guy.
Yes, along with solid state batteries which will accept 100 kWh in 5 minutes, and the infamous Hydrogen Highway.Wireless battery car charging is progressing worldwide, by innovation from many different companies.
But I do understand the technology. And I have a pretty good understanding of government-think having worked most of my career as a defense contractor.Just because you don’t understand the technology, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.
Right! You think you could run just one wire the length of the road and make this happen? One needs lots and lots of wire and the road has to be lined with lots of high power electronics. Millions of dollars per mile. When it eventually gets implemented in roadways, it’ll severely reduce the massive battery size, and earth destroying materials needed to make them.
And laughing at you the whole way. Yup, I'm a funny guy! You’ll be the horse and buggy guy clinging on to your old giant battery technology car, hooking it up to your cable![]()
Yes indeed… Just like the entire EV market.Inductive EV charging thrives where there is generous government funding.
I already explained yesterday, I have no open garage space and the car is my wife’s, and she doesn’t want to deal with it in the dark rain and snow late at night.expensive "solution" for a lazy bum who can't spend 15 seconds to connect/disconnect
Would you not be willing to plug in the car for your wife in those situations?Yes indeed… Just like the entire EV market.

Don’t be such a judgmental tool.
Everyone’s situation and needs and desires are different.
Possibly… If I was there at the time.Would you not be willing to plug in the car for your wife in those situations?
I'm in the rural 'burbs about 30 miles north of center city. We have 7 stations in my usual weekly driving circle, 4 of which have canopies and 3 which are older service stations which do not have canopies. Lots of old 2-bay service stations around here, all of which once had gas pumps, about half of which still retain them.I’d say, around 100.00% of gas stations have a canopy here. Your profile says Philly. I did a quick google satellite view of Philly. Every single gasoline station has a protective canopy.![]()
Yes, I know that's unusual. And I think it's as much the driver as the vehicle, as my wife routinely gets 50% better mileage than me when we trade vehicles for a few days or a week. It takes a certain amount of energy to accelerate 5000 lb. of steel from 0 to 60 mph in a given time or distance, your patience with that task likely dictating the fuel usage, much more than relatively minor differences in engine efficiency.Owning a sedan that gets 12mpg, is a very unusual, and for most of the general public, a very undesirable vehicle with such bad efficiency. Your other vehicle being a truck (doesn’t equate to a battery car capability) with rather poor 14 mpg is your other benchmark.
Find me a 500 hp car that gets 36 mpg, and we can talk!...saying you should simply trade in your 12 mpg sedan for 36 mpg car and cut your fueling time to 1/3’d the time
Probably true. I think we can all be guilty of that sometimes, assuming our situation is common or normal. You’re making your argument, with the erroneous presumption that everyone has the same house, property layout, work, and driving schedule as you imagine for yourself.
Again, assuming others habits and schedule reflect my own. Some may even need to charge daily, I guess comparing average yearly mileage to average EV range could help us settle that debate.Once a week plug in?
Try that working 12 hour shifts at a job that has a long distance drive.
Na they’ll just suggest a simple geodesic dome made of solar panels to cover your entire property.Possibly… If I was there at the time.
I was waiting for grump or trad to
suggest I build another garage.
But then, her 36 mpg car is cheaper than electric charging here, so it’s all just for internet conversation
My wife's on her own during a rain storm around here. We rarely get a nice soaking or a drizzle.Would you not be willing to plug in the car for your wife in those situations?
