Good Morning
56° with a high of 77 under clear skies, another dry day.
Yesterday was a busy one, I’ve been starting every day with rotating the mantle and checking its weight. I use the chain hoist to rotate it, so it’s easy to get the weight off the hoist scale. So far it’s lost 40lbs, and moisture % has gone from middle 20’s down to low teens. Checking has been minimal, but enough to add character. It is staying straight and not twisting. I’m impressed with how well having the floor dryer fan on it is drying it up.
I cut up a batch of sandblast mask for the Rockman while the grass dried off, then hooked up the progressive mower and mowed all the open areas. After that was done, swapped the Progressive for the 90” Landpride and mowed inside the pastures. Dropped the Landpride, and hopped on the Lazer to mow the inside of the fence lines. That pretty much killed the day, didn’t get to the hanger.
While I was busy, there was lots happening on and in the old folks home.
Stone is almost completely in place and ready for pointing.
The doors and windows in the Great Room are trimmed
The shower is all grouted
Everyone will be back today, it’s great to see progress that doesn’t involve me. It’s a novelty, but I have to say that I can get used to it.
My day is going to start with rotating the mantle, then breakfast with the professor. Then hopefully on to the little plane if the old folks home or string trimmer doesn’t suck me in.
