Brazil speaks either Spanish or Portugese. Those are of the Romanic language family, together with Italian and French. English, Dutch, German, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish are all of the Germanic language family, so as a Dutchman, misspelled English by Americans doesnt throw me off as easily..

We're not misspelling, we just streamlined for efficiency!...misspelled English by Americans doesnt throw me off as easily..
colour -> color
aluminium -> aluminum
bonnet -> hood
cheque -> check
dialogue -> dialog
You get the idea. For as much as the English supposedly hate the French, they certainly carry a lot of their silly flourishes around in their language.
