Anyone ever been in the situation as to where you can only keep one of the two in the garage if so how did you decide which one sits outside?

I really haven't seen to many downsides to leaving a tractor out side except a few issues like nest in the air box, hydraulic hoses cracking and needing replaced but that took many years, sun fads the orange paint, water in the fuel maybe. It's a tractor as long as it works it's fine.

On the other hand the truck gets used more and in the winter months having it inside is nice as you get frost all over the windshield and mirrors and have to wait for it to clear.

Probably more of a personal opinion. :)

yep, kept the truck in. Added a couple of bays and a lean to to the garage, problem solved ! Should have done it years ago.
I would like to but everything is so costly.

If I didn't have a cab, and I had to plow snow with the tractor so I could get my truck out, to get to work? Then I would put the tractor in the barn.

With a cab, or in the summer? The cleaner or nicer of the two would go in the barn.

Auto paint seems to do a lot better in the elements than most tractor paint.

My tractor is in the garage and my truck sits outside. My 30 year old son closed on a house today so in a few days my truck will be back inside again after 3 years.

Stored a tractor outside for 43 years on my dads farm. The hydraulic hoses did lose there outer cover, so you could see the braided reinforcement of the hose. Never had a leak or need to replace a hose due to exposure.
Outside storage is pretty much a non issue unless you have critter problems.

My diesel pickup and tractor both live outside. If i had a choice, the tractor would be covered. The pickup is painfully cold to drive for the first 15-20 miles on a cold day, but the tractor has exposed seat, controls and some electronics. I tarp the tractor on nights we expect snow, but the truck gets snowed on.

Truck goes in garage. Tractor goes in barn.
Just like you but neither of my tractors would fit in the garage anyway, way too tall. Tractors in the barn along with everything else including the RV.
