What do you guys think of this? He said he bought it at an auction, trusting it was good because it was new & un-used. He said "you and I are in the same boat".

I guess equipment ends up at auction for a variety of reasons. It seems most of the time I am buying someone else's problem, so the price has to account for that potential.
As far as "being in the same boat", that depends entirely upon how HE handles the matter. Best of luck!
