safe and sound in Mayer AZ. Sunny and hot, 97, but not crazy hot
tried to get a little shade from one tiny tree but until sun goes down a/c will never turn off.
easier drive today, but gosh CA 10's road surface really is awful towards Eastern end of their state. 20 miles of washboard.
Cross over into Utah, road got smooth. For a while, then it went rough too.
And they had to gall to simply put up a sign saying Rough Road instead of fixing it.
looks like they have big widening projects going on, dust billowing up from machines
Commercial construction around Phoenix very unique. All the big warehouse buildings and there are lots of huge buildings there are painted grey and white.
no other colors and I looked. Mile after mile of grey and white. Have to wonder what the story is on that. Energy conservation? Totally different businesses/industries are in grey/white buildings.
finally saw some cactus coming into Arizona. I was hoping to take a walk tomorrow and get some pics. The desert at the last place had zero cactus and just withered scrub. I sure don't want those spikes in my tires but they are a cool plant
prickly, like some of my friends...
definitely going to do laundry tomorrow so that light goes off on the dash...
might venture out later, headed for long hot shower and lying down with cool fan blowing on me, if I'm lucky, doze off.
that pineapple sheet cake looks yummy.
