What about those folks that recently took delivery of the $100,000 cybertruck.

Tesla is having people refuse delivery of them with the price dropped to $78,000.

Prices have been coming down over the past year or so.

Cybertrucks have been out now for what???.... 6 months or so.

I'm thinking there is more to this then what your willing to see.

I knew the CT was overpriced. It was a vehicle over promised that undelivered at a significant price jump from originally intended.

The only reason I bought my Y was that the value was lowered by Elon to the point that it made sense for me.

Hard to feel compassion for someone who overpaid for a car and then screams at the low value years later.

Folks have done similar for the past few years with home purchases.

At least a home is, for the most part, an appreciating asset.

People that were buying into the fears of the housing market should have just waited if possible.

Look back at 2009 when we had the housing crash happen.

It was for the same reason. Homes values were artificially inflated.

What happened was a metric crap load of strategic foreclosures.

Yeah the CT is seeing sales decrease and folks not taking delivery of their options.

Can you imagine how many underground tanks had to be pumped out after all that flooding .
I can’t find a single report on the net mentioning this.
It’s either not a big problem, or it’s simply not being reported.
Where did you read of this issue?

Good point. My experience was early-1990's, pre-ethanol days, so I hadn't thought of that.

I wonder how they manage it, then? Based on my experience working several years at one of the larger stations around, it's just not possible to keep water out of those buried tanks, at least those of the type they were building back then. I suspect the filler spouts, always located below-flush in the middle of the parking lot for easy access by a semi tanker, is a major source of intrusion.
They have to somehow. The station closest to me, Texaco, closed for a couple months getting their concrete ripped up after selling water laced gasoline for a day. Their insurance company paid for a lot of repairs.

Previously they priced 10¢ or more higher than Walmart across the street. Since the incident, parity or less than Walmart trying to get their customer base back.

Don't have to read of it to know it is going to be a problem.

Then again you are still trusting the media to be fair? The media is going bananas over "EVs exposed to salt water catching fire!" but then drill down to the government data they claim to have 48 lithium-ion fires, 11 EVs of which they seem to include cheap Chinese electric bicycles, the remainder is other lithium-ion things oh-by-the-way-also-too such as cellphones, laptops, power tools. But don't pay any attention to that, 11 of 48 fires are EVs and EVs are the story!

New Hampshire has been on a tear lately. Lots of stations ripping up and replacing old steel underground tanks. I haven’t seen a single replacement be of steel
