I did my good deed for the day.

I was working on a piece of equipment and heard faint meowing coming from another piece of equipment.

I went to inspect and found a 2 to 3 week old kitten in rough shape.

Her eyes were swollen shut, lips really dry and covered in black carbon from an exhaust leak inside the cabinet she was in.

Coworkers wife swung by work and picked it up to take it to the vets.

One eye has an ulcer, and both are swollen shut.

Vet gave her a bath and sent her home with some eye drops and cream for her eyes.

Coworker sent me these photos a little while ago. From the size of the hands, I'm pretty sure it was his daughter who was bottle feeding her.

So I'm sure Monday he will be cussing me about having another cat in the house

Great job and a sure ticket to heaven. Thank you for doing the right thing.
And daughter bottle feeding the kitten? Talk about a lifelong lesson and memories for as long as she lives.

Talked to my coworker about the kitten the other day. His daughter is pretty much the only one that can feed it.

Eyes are doing better but they figure it's still blind and gonna remain that way.

I have had 2 blind cats who were the best house cats ever. This one born blind took about a week longer than her litter mates to remember where the litter pan was. Thereafter, no problem.

Took this girl 10 years to decide she liked pillows, then hardly ever left her pillow. When younger she didn’t like how the pillow sagged under feet. Blind from birth, clearly navigated via sonar. Started going deaf at 12 years, one ear first then the other. Nothing the vet could do. Lived 16 years.

Black and white named Bo, is at least seventeen years old.
Arlo, the gray and white cat, is 15 months old. Anything that moves is a game to him.

Bo does not approve of being part of Arlo’s games.
Bo has no claws, thanks to some idiot way in Bo’s past, so he can’t fend off Arlo.

Lots of angry hisses.

Barn cat, that adopted me. I'm not a "cat person"...

Buck.jpg
I got him checked over, shots and neutered, and he has now become an in/out cat here for a month or so. Named him "Buck", but "kitty" works just fine. Good cat and seems to be adapting well.

Anyone buy a harness/leash for walking their cat? Any success in using it? I did, and tried it on the kitty. He could just back right out of it, even when tightened. I guess their shoulders are not directly connected to their spine, so they can wiggle out of just about anything. Good thing it wasn't expensive.
