Also an old mnemonic to remind bicyclists that clockwise rotation tightens the right pedal but loosens the left pedal. Once pedal manufacturers put hex recesses in the ends of pedal axles, the cyclist had to remember the left pedal has left hand thread. My thoughts:
Reference for working with right hand thread bolts. Turn right or clockwise to tighten and left or counterclockwise to loosen.
Yup. More than once , struggled to loosen lug nuts on a vehicle , before finally remembering that vehicle had left hand threads on one sideOld enough to remember when automobile wheel lugs were threaded that way.
It's a mnemonic that mechanics use to remind themselves which way to turn the bolt to tighten or loosen it. Learned it from my Dad in the 60's. Or a straight line for a joke. :')))Just testing a theory mentioned in another thread ...![]()
It means when you have to replace a thermocouple in a water heater, you're going to shear off the bolts that hold the burner in because they are left hand thread meant for specific use in a mobile home and a big box store sold them for use in stick built houses for a few years. Lawsuit ensued. Free burners for all affected!Just testing a theory mentioned in another thread ...![]()
What are you saying about Lucy? It's why they stopped calling gasoline Ethyl, too.
