My grandson got a sort of mini trampoline, a web and canvas contraption to go over an inner tube. My wife went to a local commercial tire repair shop and asked for a tube. They gave her 2 used tubes at no charge.
I thought about using a large piece of round wood, like a clothes closet dowel and a hose clamp too. Haven't tried it yet. If you leave a few inches of tube loose on the ends, it makes good handles to pick them up.Could probably use rubber cement and fold the ends over very neat and clean (as clean as an old inner tube can be...)
At this point I just want the US system to persist forever simply as a means to pi$$ folks off.![]()
The ones I've used for my pool cover are thinner, and not mechanically as durable as an inner tube. But on the flip side, most of the good ones are UV-resistant, whereas inner tubes are not.For the folks that are using inner tubes full of sand, would the small swimming pool cover water bags work well enough if they were partially filled with sand ?
Hmm. Might work very well. I assume since they are for outdoor use they must be made with some UV resistance. Just cut one end off to fill with sand and re-seal with your favorite method (chip clip?). Worth a try.For the folks that are using inner tubes full of sand, would the small swimming pool cover water bags work well enough if they were partially filled with sand ?
