that's even more then a NOCO its only a 5a vs to 10a on the noco. And i Thought the noco was a touch pricey.

You can get them much cheaper than that price on the Hulkman page. There is a bundle package on Amazon for $70 now

well according to this guy, it doesn't work period, even on the noco. which I can kind of relate to.

Not into watching You Tube, and I don't have a NOCO maintainer so I can't comment on how those work.

They might be similar to the CTEK I have. According to the specs it does have a desulfation function, but I have yet to see any evidence of that. Although, in all fairness, that one has never been used for weeks on end and maybe hasn't had a chance to prove itself.

Anyway, I don't think there should be any doubt the desulfation works. But much like sufation doesn't happen quickly, getting rid of it also takes time. Could be months, could be a year or more, depending on the "aggressiveness" of the desulfator.

I keep my 1997 Ford 7.3 diesel in the garage all winter, it's never seen snow actually and it runs a pair of Interstate Group 31 flooded cell starting batteries and it stays on a Battery Minder maintainer, all winter and has for the last 4 years now. No issues what so ever but and I say but, I make sure the batteries are 'fully charged' before it gets laid up for the winter. Do the same with the side by side. never have had any battery maintainer 'boil' out a battery, ever. Cooking any flooded cell battery tells me the maintainer's current is way to high. You always want an amp or less of maintainer current. Yuhasa also produces an excellent maintainer.

Yea... its the voltage being too high, not amperage. you can put a 500 amp charger behind a battery once it levels out the voltage, it won't take 1 amp of current.

IDK I have never seen it recover a battery for me. I don't know why you don't watch utube but the same guy says the ctek only does the deslulf mode on battery's at 2v, I'm not sure it does it every cycle.

To me, desulfation is more about keeping a battery in good shape than to revive a bad one. I've successfully brought several back to life, but can't say if it was the carefully applied forms of charging, the desulfation that followed, or a combination of both.

Why don't I watch You Tube? Primarily because of all the misinformation found there, and also because it's time consuming. There are quicker ways to find facts.

One exception I must admit to is that since finding out about The Motor Oil Geek I have watched several of his videos. That guy has a ton of great and factual information, more than a can generally absorb.

You don’t watch you-tube, but you watch motor oil geek? On what website?

Ahh .. see it now. You-Tube is mostly misinformation, except, “the motor oil geek “ .

And once again, the answer was already posted.

Not my fault that you interpret my wording as meaning "mostly". There's a lot of misinformation on You Tube, which is fine - people have the right to express their opinion and make money doing it.

What I don't care for is that many viewers take questionable videos as gospel.
