Thanks Bill.
home sweet home
4 hours 15 minutes taking route 50 out to 81 in Winchester and just setting the cruise.
runs into 78 and I took that a little ways and decided to skip the toll on the PA Turnpike NE extension
and went a little further to 309 South. Which in 10 miles gets to Quakertown and then home, waving at Popgadget's
beautiful yellow mailbox as I went by.
got stuck behind some ancient woman on 313 driving an old silver MB 300TD wagon doing 35 in the 45 where everyone does 50.
What a line of traffic. And of course that's when four hours of driving and my bladder were on an unhappy course.
got to go and turn lady, turn! and eventually she did to the left and I got a look at her.
getting to the end, I started going faster than normal, had to slow myself down.
and when I did that, 30 seconds later PA state trooper passed me. I was only doing 10 over but who knows how
bad a day he/she had.
pretty tuckered out, strange chairs and bed aggravated my back and my neck hurts from driving.
need to go out and blow leaves off the walkways. Still a little more to come down.
had to chuckle today when I looked down and I was doing 90 after passing someone, just floored it, like I was used to doing in the rv....
and sometimes after some trucker dawdles in the left lane for no good reason, likely on the phone, on flat land, and when he/she finally gets over after clogging up the interstate for miles and miles well sometimes you just want to put your foot in it.
Which is of course when you pass the radar.
Several times I could see folks who were following me, mimic'ing what I was doing. Likely I was doing the speed they wanted, particularly when they see I keep returning to the same speed as before, like 63 in a 55. Or 75 in a 70. Today I had a 5 or 7 series older BMW behind me, those grills all look pretty similar. Like Volvo grills...
So many heavy trucks on I-81 that on any kind of hill you have passing going on across the three lanes almost constantly.
I paid a lot of money two weeks ago to Volvo dealership to tune up that engine (I think the pack of four sparkplugs were 135 bucks)
and at least it ran fine. I had a tank of 93 Sunoco in it and let's say the carbon got cleaned out a few times today.
will have some pics later.
