Last 3 days been hauling and burning about 270 old cherry trees I had cut down and piled in rows , 2-3 hrs tomorrow I’ll be done . Got a incinerator pile of hot coals that burn the trees up as fast as I can haul them .

I managed to get some rotavating done today,

It's one job with a tractor I don't mind doing.

Tonight... Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 7pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 31. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible

Today's seat time will be putting on the chains!

Happy Thanksgiving all !

Our family get together postponed until tomorrow.

Up until yesterday weatherman said 1 to 2 inches here more to the south where the turkey dinner is. This morning our local prediction went up to 6 inches. So I went out and took the grapple off and put on the plow on. I just got in and looked again. The weather was upgraded to winter storm, 8+ inches. Just light snow and 30* now.

Looking at some old pictures I found this interesting one. Caption says - 100 feet long, 40" top, 68" butt, scaled at 9000 bf, South Bend. Wash. It must have been interesting getting that out of the woods and into the water.

Just as I was getting ready to put my wood in this fall, things came up and I didn't get a chance to get it in. I had the wood,
I just need to get it split and under cover.
With rain, then 6-10 inches of snow predicted I decided to forgo hunting and put some wood up. I was just putting the last stick on the splitter when I felt the first raindrops on my face. I have a good strong half cord on the trailer...



That will get me into the new year, and I can work the rest along.

I then swapped my grapple for the bucket.

We have about 7" of heavy wet stuff at the house and about 3" down at the road, still snowing lightly.
We had our Thanksgiving Dinner today, had to ferry everyone and down the driveway in my pickup. The studded snows were working good a bit of chewing on the last few trips this evening.

I woke up this morning and my digital clock said 2:00. I hit the light switch as I went out to add wood to the fire... nothing. In the time it took to get out of bed, the power had gone out. There are massive outages around, so I'll be powerless for a while.

Does anybody use a spinner knob on their steering wheel? My brother put one on the 2800 which was my father's, because he's tired of using his finger to spin the wheel.
I find it to be a PITA, but he likes it and it's a shared machine.

I personally don’t like those spinner knobs but lots of folks do like them. There actually was a pretty long thread about them a while ago
