What kind of vintage car do you wish you had?

Right on Massey, my sentiments exactly ! I have some old, and some new. Nothing like firing up my 2022 Mustang GT and hearing that nice throating growl. Great cruiser, and when you want some punch, the 450 HP is there on tap, ready and willing to give you consistent thrills, for as long as you dare.

I bought a 2017 Mustang GT 6 spd. It was an amazing car. It was decades ahead of the original with more comfort, more performance, more safety, and better mileage than the original Mustangs. Proof that technology has evolved but the nostalgia is still there for the old cars. They bring back memories of the old days when cars and life was simpler. I sold it because it was black. Here in the dry and dusty SW black isn't a color. It's a job. Someday I'd like to get another but right now my stalls are full. I have a late vintage 987.2 Porsche Boxster S for the back canyon roads.

The 77-79 F250 would be my choice. I will have one soon enough.
That’s what my brother drove to his prom and the youngest brother and I detailed for him and it was the last time it was clean like that…

First vehicle I had was 1978, F250... sweet truck (circa 1981). Also had a 1978 IH Scout II years later (circa 1990). Would like to have them again but it would ruin my memories of them!!

I've always wanted one of the vintage African land cruiser pickups. I have no practical use for one, but it'd just be fun. Those things were built to be stout. You can throw an 800lb animal in the back and I don't even think they squat.

My uncle had a 79 F250 that was red and white. Even being just a child, I had an infatuation with that truck. My first truck was a 77 Chevy K1500 and then traded it for a Jeep CJ7 that I finished out high school in. After having owned around 150 vehicles in my life, sadly none of them have been the 70's F250.

The old Scouts are pretty awesome too. I have always wanted to find a diesel one to restore. Last summer I came very close to buying a very nice 78 F250 that was hunter green and in very nice condition. I had grabbed the cash over lunch and they sold it out from under me before I got off work. Shoulda took off early!

Speaking of memories. I had a 1959 TR3 that I thought was the hottest sportscar around when I was a kid. Rusty and unreliable but dam I had fun running that around the windy roads. Todays cars will run circles around it and most examples I see for sale are rust buckets or high dollar...so I'll just try to keep the memories alive.

Everybody looks at the trailer queen 50/60/70s muscle cars and thinks they're as good as their looks.
Most handled badly and were terrible in the corners. The brakes were even worse.
Yup... I agree. My brother wanted us to get a Harley and cruise the interstates with him. I rented one; it was not for us. We talked about it and decided what would really be fun would be an older car where we could sit next to each other and talk in more comfort... maybe an old Camaro like I had when we dated!

Something meant to drive... not a trailer queen. Our '68 spent its life in Florida. The engine and transmission were non-original (from a '89 Vette). It was ok. 240hp was a big yawn and it would easily overheat. It is FUN though! Upon retirement, I talked my wife into a redo: I had a top shop do an LS swap. Carl Wagner built the engine to spec, custom trans, all new fuel, cooling, electrical, exhaust, etc. Best of both worlds!

Dyno'd at 530hp but is mild and street-able... my daughter drives it! With Vintage Air and cruise control it is comfortable too. Last year I had the same shop update the brakes: Wilwood discs all around and hydroboost. Perfect now. We go on weekly dates; it can take us anywhere.

My preference would be a 1935 Ford pickup. It would need to be updated. Here is a picture of a truck that Larry Jordan built in 1989. This is what I am referring to. I followed this truck on EBAY, in the mid 2000's, for over a year until it was sold. At that time they were asking around 60K for it. It was a really nice truck. No chop, custom hood, louvered inter fenders, small block Chevy, and it had the right stance.
