Yesterday, found a Power Toque, 3/8" breaker bar in the road, broken. This morning, stop at Oreilys to exchange for a brand new one ($18.95 value), and there is a $10 bill laying in the parking spot. Redneck Santa is good.
Was the husband convicted?Back in the 60's it used to be a joke around here also.
In a town of less than 2000 people, a woman disappeared and all they found of her was her thumb in the sewage treatment plant. The cops speculated her husband took her body to the city dump and buried her. After that, the local dump had all kinds of officials rifling through everything.
So when a couple got into a heated argument, this remark was made "You want to go to the dump?"
Her disappearance is a unsolved mystery to this day.Was the husband convicted?
With her thumb showing up at the sewage treatment plant, it sounds more like he chopped her into tiny pieces and flushed her.
As kids, we found a mass grave in the county potter's field. They just dug a trench and laid in a bunch of concrete vaults. Anytime someone would die, they'd put the casket in the next vault and push some dirt over it, leaving the other empty vaults exposed. The problem was, someone dug into the dirt and opened up the last buried vault and left the lid off, exposing the casket.I never personally found a body. Twice I've found individual bones that I kinda wonder about, a lower leg bone once, that surely wasn't deer or bear... but it wasn't worth risking a job getting shut down over, so

There's an insulation factory north of us that frequently offers free cutoffs. You could piece together anything with enough tape.Years ago there was Celotex factory near my home town. Once a week they would take all the foam insulation board rejects to the dump. The rejects usually only had a small defect. The smart guys would pick up those and insulate their houses and sheds with them. After a few years they changed to a hauler that would insure the boards didn't get "repurposed". I don't know if they worried about lost sales or liability.
There is a website called TrashNothing.com that folks put stuff up for sale that they just don't want. You know the old saying, "One man's junk is another man's gold". Yes, a lot of it is one man's gold and to me another man's junk. BUT... often there is some REALLY GOOD STUFF. Just sayin'!I'm looking for ways to always get rid of crap. If I haven't used it in 3 years or more it usually gets sold or junked.
I don't want to be that dude whose estate sale looks like Sanford & Son.
