That's really odd.And there is no way of adjusting them. I carry a snowsled in back most of the winter. It used to be SOP to pull up to the garage door in fall and adjust them down; then back up in the spring. Now I just blind oncoming drivers... Sorry folks, nothing I can do about it.
Sunset here is around 4:30pm, and I usually have commitments or activities extending until at least 9pm. So, no way to avoid it!Though the best thing I did for driving at night and meeting IDIOTS with the super bright lights... quit driving at night and stay home.
I brought some, too, expecting something like that, but might have put them on too late. When I go to eye Dr., they put drops in to dilate them.
I bring sunglasses as that keeps the light from overwhelming my eye .
Works pretty well.
“If you can’t beat them, join them.” The first car I ever drove with HID’s was about 20 years ago, and I was instantly hooked. Our old Volvo in particular (2005?) actually yielded better visibility for spotting deer at night, than daylight, I almost felt bad for oncoming vehicles. The worst though is the super high output bulbs some cars have. They shine that clear blue and I have to think they are brighter than is legal.
My 2007 V70 has Xenon too. A lightbulb is expensive at 100 bucks, but over 15 years of lifetime its only a few bucks a year. Our old Volvo in particular (2005?) actually yielded better visibility for spotting deer at night, than daylight, I almost felt bad for oncoming vehicles.
I blame it on modern digital dashboards. The dash is lit so the driver thinks the headlights are on.my biggest beef with DRLs is the idiots who drive at night without turning real headlights on, because they just think their lights are dim when the DRLs are automagically on at night
of course, they're dark from behind
My 2016 Subaru came off the lot with headlights aimed way too high. There is a privacy fence across the street for which I am used to seeing my headlight beams. Way too high. Took it to the dealer rather than fix myself, they adjusted to that which I am used to without being told what I am used to. So I'm guessing they adjusted correctly and my other vehicles are also adjusted correctly. For some reason, I get a lot of people flashing their high beams at me when I'm approaching with low beams on. The car's never been in an accident and I seriously doubt Toyota sent it out with misaligned lights.
