Good morning TBN!!
40 this morning and will probably pretty much stay that way all day. Rain should start about lunch time and probably stay that way all weekend. Hopefully all our friends in Texas are good!

Not much today and probably the same all weekend :)
I do plan on getting the recycling done and delivered and probably some walks between rains.
I should get the solenoid for the 4 wheeler today so that will be on my agenda today or tomorrow.
Other then that lazy period.

Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good Morning,
Vt, 8 to start going to 30 ! Clear skies this morning with little to no breeze! The sun just broke over the mountains in the east a few minutes ago !

The family is coming up on Saturday morning and we are hoping to get plenty of sledding in before the rains move in sometime on Sunday!

With the temp at 8 I’m not in a hurry to get outside but I do need to move some snow today before the gang comes in tomorrow!

Quite content in front of the wood stove this morning looking out into the back woods !

Hope all have a great day ! 🙏

   / Good morning!!!! #201,033
one of my xmas gifts was from my brother, who had made copies of
pictures of our family farm. The up close picture was from the real estate brochure and the
larger picture I thought from Bowman's Hill with a telephoto, but no.
Apparently they knew someone with a plane who took pictures (like Popgadget) and that pic
was from a plane looking North on the farm.

they allowed new owner to tear that 1720 home down to the foundation and rebuild it. Into a garage.
and then built a 12,000 sf monstrosity on the front lawn.

there were three rocks in the front lawn. I knew them ever so well since
I had to trim them with the mower every week.
two are shown, the "Big Rock" was a little further out, and the one
we played king of the mountain on, when falling off a few feet to the ground
was simply good fun.
thank goodness they left the rocks.
otherwise hard to tell where I am.
thankfully they preserved the smaller home, which was my grandfather's, and the one I lived in
for several years. The one with the travertine bathroom. All circa about 1930.

I'd rather remember the place the way as it was. At least all the fields are in permanent land preservation, which
was a requirement our family had for any buyer. From Aquetong Road you can't see any new houses, all hidden back
in the woods. Ten multimillion dollar homes on 5 acre wooded lots. Rockwood Farm became Rockwood Path.
but at least there is a green preservation sign out front.

farm started off being 93 acres and then my father saw a tax sale and bought all the land down to the Delaware River
for something silly like the tax owed of 91 dollars. They had to post it and wait three years, and then it was ours. 116 acres,
previously owned by the Turnbulls and before that the Pidcocks.

looks like whoever is doing the fields is also planting the small one across the street.
can anyone suggest what crop that is? Looks like hair braids.

Good Morning
14° and sunny. High of 38.
Yesterday was putter in the shop, getting organized, filling packout organizers that Santa brought. Rearranging welders to set up water cooled TIG torch from the old Miller welder on the Primeweld, using the Miller radiator. Helped oldest son troubleshoot the icemaker in the barn.
A little bit of Barn work, moved another Carryall load of firewood up from the wood shed before a relaxing dinner in front of the fire.
Good possibility of Music tonight, waiting to hear back from the last band member. I really need to get my passport renewal underway, I’ve got to get something shipped out UPS, and the inevitable stuff that pops up in between.

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 32 going to a high of 44 and cloudy. Supposed to be 60 later this weekend. What a bizzare winter. Arctic one week, tropical the next.

The madness of Christmas is passed, house is slowly emptying out. Nephew loved his Forage Harvester plushie, all appreciated their gifts. Now just need to clean up the space before Mom+Dad+Dog head south for the beach house for the New Year. Did some leaf cleanup to prevent dog from tracking the small leaves into the house. I think I've had a grand total of 8 hours off out of the 24 I was supposed to use. Christmas Eve phone trouble at the main branch, came in for that. Then the day after Christmas up at 5am (Farmer's hours) to get in early to troubleshoot an internet problem and get everything back up. Oh well, everything is up and working. Job security I guess.

My goal for this new year is to find a piece of dirt to buy. Hope to be able to put a house up the same year, but...we shall see. So watch this space!

All, please guard your health and be well! For those of you going out to celebrate NYE: Don't drink and drive, it's never worth it.

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 9.8C and it's presently 17.8C, overcast with a breeze.

Well, the house is as ready for my Brisbane guests as I can make it. ;) Mind you, no sooner do I 'sweep' for spiderwebs that the house-spiders are back 'at it' again.

I'm off to Launceston AP @ 1300 to pick up my first two guests. The other, my old Shipmate from Brisbane, prefers to drive down each year... yes, there's a ferry. He'll get here on NYE.

That's about it, take care all.

Down at MIL house now, had a good ham dinner. Oldest son and girlfriend stopped here also, but they now heading to TN.
Traffic very heavy today, worse than we saw at Thanksgiving.
Brought our cats, they did good on the ride.
