Good Morning
35° and raining, not a nice time for outside activities. High for today is 45, with rain likely through out the day. Might see some peeks of sun this afternoon, but it will be a muddy mess outside.

Yesterday was more organizing and cleaning in the shop. I got the water cooling adapter to plug my water cooled torch from my old Miller into the new machine. It’s amazing what the water cooling does to the capacity of the torch. The air cooled one is rated 170 amps, the water cooled is 350 amps, and they are about the same size.

There is also a big difference in size and weight between the old transformer Miller and the inverter Primeweld. The new machine has many more features and TIG welds much nicer because of them. The old Miller is a great stick welder though.

Two of the band members had holiday obligations last night, but we got together anyway, we found locals to play in their place. So we played stuff that everyone would know or was easy to pick up. Grandson sat in on tambourine. Wife got some pictures of him, I’ll see if I can post them later.

Today doesn’t have a lot planned, we are supposed to get together with all the kids, spouses, and grandkids this afternoon at oldest son’s. That might get moved to the old folks home as DIL is under the weather with a sinus infection.
But it will be somewhere here on “the compound”.

Also didn’t sleep well. But in too small of bed, with 2 cats on us, and waiting to hear son made it home.
Then cats get playful and hungry early in morning. Once awake, can’t sleep. Also the early morning bathroom break. Too much water last night after eating ham. Was good though.
Haven’t had acid reflux issues in years. Think it was job stress in my younger years. Looking back, don’t know how I got so much done back then. Lots of travel back then, which is why I prefer staying put now.

The old Miller is a great stick welder though.
I had the Big Blue Miller 400 amp diesel Deutsch engine driven welder mounted on a trailer for many years. It was a great stick welder and also could be used as a generator. It was loud as heck and could be heard miles away. Down sized and sold it off a few years ago. It always started on first try barely turning over before starting and air cooled no freeze concerns

when the lights dim here I know Popgadget has fired up his mondo welder! sucks the grid right down...;)
he really does have some nice welding equipment there, was looking forward to using his new one.

tried on my new xmas suspenders today, clip on ones keep popping off, don't hold well enough.
I think I need to modify the clip, has a plastic insert. Didn't hold on jeans, but held pretty well on belt.

headed out to put heat on in garage, try to drive some of the humidity out and keep the condensation down in there.
I have plenty of propane.

Morning all, 38 going to 48 and rain.
Got a few more loads of wood up to the house.
Set up my new #5 plane to work on the boards for jointing.
Did not get out to try the new X27 yet, may be a while with days of rain on the radar.

Heart Dr. visit went well, gained 2 pounds since March.

My FIL house was built in the 1700's and is right on the Delaware River. He sold it about a year before he died. It needed too much work for us to take it on.
The person who bought it spent two years renovating and now has it up for sale again. Bet he is trying to recoup all the money he had to put into it.
While it would have been nice to keep it in the family, it needed everything replaced from support beams to roof and windows.

Ponds and river here are back up to normal with all the recent rain.

Got more apples to Dehydrate, they came out great last time in the new Air fryer.

Be well,

67°F and .73 inches rain.

Refilled my diesel yesterday. Hopefully can get back to mowing today. Right now that might be more hope than actual mowing. Looking like more rain.
