31 outside right now, may touch 60 today. With rain expected to usher in the New Year.

I plan on being up to welcome in the New Year. I want to slam the door on this one. 'nuff said.

I putzed around yesterday, did some real job stuff too. Looks like I will be busy with the real job for another month. Jeesh.

Hay people finally showed up. Even buying stuff is getting difficult. I think the wife is looking for a new supplier. Too many excuses, not enough communications. I call out on business skills and talking to customers. Seems a lot of people these days, just want to show up.

Good Morning

Vt, 35 to start 44, clouds now but it looks to be clearing! The wind was like a locomotive last night ! My youngest son was out in front of the barn with the grill and I thought he was going to get blown away !

Later this morning I will be heading over to see LouNy down in Greenwich, right after my youngest son and family leave !
Looking forward to the visit !

Hopefully all that wind last night helped dry things out a bit !

May do some wood splitting behind the barn with my oldest grandson later this afternoon, need to give him some fresh air and get him tired enough so he sleeps for his parents!

Having some alignment issues with one the arms on the rockers, need to try and figure that out !

Good morning TBN!!
36 this morning and maybe make 60 this afternoon. Possible showers late before the temps drop out for the new year.
Spent time in and around the shop yesterday. Shuffled toys. Decided I didn't need the buggy I am working on blocking the lift so I moved it to the other bay.
Cut some firewood on FEL lengths that I had brought up just in case
Walked the dog a little but he really got his exercise from the 4x4 runs on the trails. Can't cross the river on foot right now because of the rains so it limits where I walk. Much dryer to walk the roads.
Not sure about today but time to get to it.

Everybody have a safe NY eve!

Happy New Years Eve! 44˚F heading to the mid 60s with cloudless skies and a brisk N wind. Glad I finished taking down the Christmas decorations yesterday in the warmth. We will be back in the 30s starting the New Year.

The squirrels are not using my front yard as a hiding place for their acorns after I spread coffee grounds sprayed with a small amount of peppermint oil. Will retreat it every 2 weeks.

I got a Ryobi leaf vac for Christmas to vacuum the tiled area around the pool, it works great. With my wife's whole house Hide-a-Hose vacuum, which she loves, we can now say that our Christmas gifts really suck.

successful trip to grocery store to get a rib roast for tonight.
Tuesday is senior day so I get a whopping 5 percent off.
surprised there were any left, looked at labels of two of them,
170 and 195 bucks apiece. I don't think so...

went over to butcher, very nice people, told them only wanted to feed myself.
He picked up a small rib roast and said how about I cut this in half for you?
Turned out to be 2.2 pounds at 19.95 a pound less my discount.
surely not cheap but will be at least three meals for me.

Popgadget, can Zoe have my bone?? I'll put it in the freezer.
not sure beef bones are ok unless thick and gnawable.

need to find a rub for the roast. Yams and green beans, plus pineapple bread pudding with ice cream
for dessert.

Happy New Years Eve.

When David was upgrading his solar 5 years ago, I was following along and tried to make a diagram of his system. I ran across my drawing the other day. I remember it being 5 yrs, as I was recovering from GBS.

Today marks 2 years of retirement for me.

I felt sorry and let snagglepuss in house last night. Afterawhile, she disappeared, and I found her asleep on our bed, so I layed with her awhile, and she curled up next to me. When wife came up, I put snagglepuss out in the garage. That’s when my wife found a tiny tick on our bed. No more snagglepuss in the house.

Morning all, 32 going up to 56, no rain, was clear skies and lots of stars last night.

Fire in the fireplace and worked on Jointing slabs for friends table, does not look like it will be done by the time he gets here Saturday :-(

Tonight off to friends house for NYE, would rather stay home, but is good for the wife to get out.
I am over my cold, but feel awful, will try not to be grumpy.

Won't take lights down until after friends leave Sunday.

Poor snagglepuss.

Edges squared, new plane works well, now I have to make the two edges align better. Put in dowels and glue up. Also taking two smaller pieces tonight as my other friend might be able to use them as shelves

I though grandparents were supposed to load the g kids up on sugar and send them home all wound up for the parents?

and that is a grandparent conundrum. You want to teach them to work, yet you want to give your kids payback......
