Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Do snow pushers fetch up on frozen rocks?

I’m using my bucket to scrap the final snow off the driveways. I occasional fetch up on frozen rocks and it’s hard on gear. Do snow pushers fetch up hard like buckets or do they have a tendency to bump over them without fetching up hard?

When you say “snow pusher”, do you mean a snowplow? Yes, they are easier on the machinery than a bucket as they have a moldboard spring relief trip edge or the moldboard has trip springs.

A steel edged pusher will jolt on an obstruction, but perhaps not as violently as a bucket edge that is generally parallel to the ground.

I had a trip plow and sold it with my other tractor but I was meaning snow pusher. they don't trip They are like a bucket but have runners. They are more like a box blade but they are on the front of the tractor.

Thanks. People say they work good. Apparently they hold alot of snow and they roll the snow so it is easier to push. I'm looking at getting one because the bucket fetching up is hard on gear.

A lot of snow plow implements and techniques work well on pavement, but not so much on gravel. If the gravel is frozen, I think you could float the pusher and it would work unless you hit a big rock or something sticking up. If the gravel isn’t frozen, it will push gravel unless you hold it up a few inches above the road.

On a side note the Massey is a beast. Beauty of a machine.

Are you putting your loader in “float”?

I back drag snow with the bucket in situations like this. When a pile forms, I push it off to the side. Takes a bit longer but it's much easier on the FEL.
