I remember being maybe 10 years old and my father bought a parcel of land deep in the woods to build a custom home on. I think back then he’d already found a customer and the customer had brought along a psychic to look anything to give him pause about building his home there, and for native American remains of a village or encampment possibly made there in the past.
I distinctly remember him saying to the group of us “STOP……I can feel something”. While we all paused, he pointed to a large, whitish rock. It lookrd like quartz, or some other light colored small boulder.

He claimed that the local tribes (Lenni Lenape) buried their dead under these more distinctive colored large rocks and we were on hallowed ground. The customer became nervous about the psychics findings and was hesitant to build their home. Eventually my dad built the home and all went well.

Whenever I see one of those big white rocks, I get kinda freaked out that a Native American is buried under one and also think of memories of my dad and how hard he worked to support us. He wasn’t perfect, but he gave it his all.

Last Summer, I was clearing some bush at my Cabin on an Island.

I came across a Mound, Round about 6' in Diameter, about 3' high. Covered in Leaves, needles and such.

Thinking it was a Rock, and how will I ever move this? I scraped the top and it was Soft, Sifted, Blonde, Beach Sand. No Stones, No roots, just Cleaned Sand in the middle of the woods, on an Island.

Any Guess Why, How?

Perhaps a sand boil?

I suspect, it was a Sand Pile, for the Horse Drawn Winter Log Slieghs. It was at the bottom of a Hill. The Island was logged Many Years Ago, (twice) judging by the Stumps.

Speaking of eagles, this was in 2014. Yes that's a live eagle.

About as patriotic as it gets.
BUT
How would that change if the eagle crapped and it landed on the flag?
Problem?

BTW, it wouldn't be nearly as inspiring in a Canadian version.
Maple leaf and a Canada goose. Not the same effect :)

I've seen 2 American Bald Eagles in my neighborhood. One
flew low at my car with a few crows pecking at it, and a smile
on it's beak. Stopped. but couldn't find my phone camera quick enough.
Almost every spring, we see a Bald Eagle sitting in a dead tree on a farm pond. It only stays for a few days and then moves on. The snag it would sit in has fallen down so I doubt we will see it again. :(

A Red Tailed Hawk wounded a crow years ago. The other crows were trying to help out the wounded one. They kept an eye on the hawk and were making a bunch of noise. The hawk sat in a tree and waited...

Hopefully this meets the OP's expectations.
We're cleaning out the house which my grandfather built in 1928, and which my parents lived since 1979. This calendar has been hanging in the cellar since 1981. Next year it will be good again.IMG_20250113_175017819.jpg

I am bringing it home.

Does it move? Looking at the construction, it wouldn't move far and I can't quite guess how much.
Something to advance a chain driven whatever?
Something to hold a chain in place?
Judging by the teeth.
Let us know if you find out.

It's a wagon jack.

Was guessing it was a jack of some type, but unsure of specific use.

Interesting design Mr. Jstpssng. Guessing the way the linkage is configured, once raised, does the handle stay locked in the raised position?

That's the part I couldn't figure out. Thought it might have been for tipping a keg, rolling a keg, or something similar where the operator had to maintain down force on the handle.

Nice barn find!

My great, great grand parents owned a country store eons back in time...

20-30 years ago, my mother was visiting a thrift or antique store in the area of the country store. She found a calendar that my great, great grand parents had created with an image of the country store. The calendar was pretty old. 😁
