Thanks. That's where I was confused. There is a seed company in Tyler that I bought some Bermuda seed from before, but I never thought about looking into rye grass.

According to their website, they have several options to chose from. It also says that the time to plant here was back in October.

I'll have to remember this and see if it's a good option for next year.
When no-till drilling in existing pastures I try to let the frost kill back the existing pasture grass so there is no competition between the existing pastures grass and the winter rye that you are trying to establish, if the rye has to compete it will lose everytime down here, so I let the weather dictate when I plant, if I turn ground or harrow it I will plant rye earlier, usually the last week of October or first week in November in these parts.

Y'all have a long hunting season...sounds like lots of critters to hunt, or the local hunters miss a lot and need a long season???

Glad it's the hunt that has you occupied!
