Good Morning!!!! 63F @ 9:30AM. A mix of clouds and sun during the morning will give way to cloudy skies this afternoon. High near 70F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
RNG my new favorite stew:
"Moroccan Bean Stew with Sweet Potatoes"
Thanks, Don, I'll give it a try. I tried a curried lentil recipe last night, and had to double the amount of curry to get any zing. Also didn't have all the ingredients, so flavor was a bit flat. What are your thoughts on substituting potassium chloride for table salt? Is that cheating with regard to heart healthy?
RNG are you getting charged by mile, I thought I saw that on Markel site.
I wasn't even aware that they offered that option. Most of my bikes aren't even roadworthy at this point, so maybe it would be worth a phone call to them? But only if it didn't screw things up with the DMV.
Then to Costco. $2.79 gas and some groceries.
Yer killin' me, Billy. Local Costco is still over $4.50/gallon, through I do get a 4% discount for using a Costco sponsored Visa. Part of the weather tax I guess.

Nice work on the beautiful burl, Phil.

My buddy's Nissan truck corrodes battery terminals like crazy. I've had them off several times, first wire brushing them, then dousing them in a baking soda solution, then clear water, and finishing up with LPS3. In a few months they're green again.
During the broken pool robot e-mail exchange with Amazon I was sometimes getting the feeling I was talking to two separate people or one person who did not know English very well.
I've had much better luck talking to Amazon people on the phone. Had to dig around to find the way to get them to call me, but didn't take long to resolve the issue once we got connected.

I don't need a watch to tell time, as the iPhone seems to handle that for me, not having much I need to be on time for these days. I am getting interested in the health monitoring capabilities in the Apple Watch, though. Are any of you useing them, and if so, how well do they work. What other functions do you like?

Did a tiny bit of cleaning yesterday, then just kinda bounced around doing things I've been putting off or had forgotten about. Started thinking about a trip north next week, trying to see if I can get the old house empty and cleaned in a two week visit. Maybe just have to try and see.

TGIF gang!

I've had really good results coating all of mine with Fluid Film.

I called the bank yesterday to find out why they were upping the interest rate on on my VISA card from 12.99% to 20.99%. The girl I got on the phone didn't seem to understand English too well until I asked for someone that could understand English better. THEN she could understand it almost perfectly.
I might have to plow tomorrow, we'll see.

went to pay my electric bill online, found out they now have a service fee to pay the bill. Unless you mail it in. They didn't list the amount, guess you gotta pay it to find out. Even payment in person has a fee. Back to mailing it, and I gave my 2 cents worth of what I thought of their new fee.

RNG a lot of people use Potassium chloride as a salt substitute and some Drs even recommend it BUT certain medical conditions or medications can cause you to retain potassium and can cause heart problems, so it is best to ask your doctor first.

I made Cathy Fishers black berry/peach cobbler again yesterday. Page 184. It never last more than 2 days.
