Good Morning
26° and grey outside, high in the middle 30’s
We got less than 2” of snow last night, too much to ignore, but not much effort to clean up.
Yesterday moved at a nice pace, seems like I got something accomplished.
I got a call while at breakfast that the quartz top was ready to pick up, I stopped on my way home and picked it up. This goes on the cabinets that we added in the old folks home. Worked out great, I was able to put the AVR receiver and BluRay player in it, now there are no exposed cables or wires in the room.
FedEx brought me a Chinesium electric hydraulic pump that I installed on the press, replacing the pneumatic one that I added a little while ago. I saw it on sale at a price I couldn’t refuse, I’ve actually had pretty good luck with the Vevor stuff that I have gotten, it was $250 delivered, and came with a foot switch. There was one with a double acting valve for about $10 more, but the press cylinder is only single acting with a spring return.
Spent some time cleaning up and lathe tinkering before it was time to take Zoe to class.
This class there were other dogs for distraction, we practiced controlled meet and greets, and returning to her place. She was far more interested in the people than the dogs.
When we got home, it was dark, making it obvious that the 200w LED floodlight on the shop was kaput. Some quick troubleshooting ruled out the WiFi smart switch, and confirmed it was the fixture. Mr Bezos to the rescue, new one will be here today.
Not looking forward to replacing it, it’s at the limit for my 24’ ladder which is also my limit. But if the weather holds off and the new one gets delivered early enough, it will be on today’s agenda some time after snow removal. Last thing on that agenda is an airport authority meeting, we’ll see what fills in the middle.
