He's worth $400B, and a full 1/3 is in one chunk of TSLA stock. That's not diversification. It's not all the eggs in one basket, but if 1/3 of my net worth was in one spot I'd be told to diversify; nobody would claim I'm *extremely diversified*.
Keep in mind not everyone let other people do their financial thinking for themselves. :)

I will be taking my Y in to have a tow hitch installed this Friday at the local Tesla Service center.
While it's be installed I scheduled a test drive with a Cybertruck. Because, why not? 😀

I hope you bought it through the corporate site.

I did not and it cost several hundred more, they charged me for a control board that interfaces with a trailers turn signals that also would have been included had I not just contacted and scheduled through the service center.

Bought it through the app. It's more expensive to have a tow hitch installed by Tesla but they will install the software so the car will recognize a trailer being towed.

Was my requirement to find a Y with the hitch factory installed. Fortunately found one with excellent "inventory" incentives only 200 miles away. Wanted white interior also too, but that wasn't to be had with hitch. Took the hitch. and now 14 months later haven't so much as removed the plastic cover to verify I really have the hitch. Window sticker says I do.

In other news decided the Y is a long term keeper so on the FSD (supervised) demo of 13, I bought.

Have briefly searched for aftermarket suspension to tame the awful ride. Found a vendor with sever different Bilstein track packages and one, "oh by the way" street comfort package. About $3k plus installation. 2000+ miles away. I'm not going to spend that kind of money without a test drive of another Y already converted. So I doubt it will occur for years yet.

When you say ap do you mean the Car connected ap? The only way I could save was ordering through the tesla "site" main account I ordered the vehicle through, it would have saved around $400. If you do like I did and do it through the phone ap and schedule through service it may cost you more. They said because I did not order the install through the desktop ap to corporate I was charged more for parts and labor along with the body module that was not compatible.

It would have taken longer since that would require corporate warehouse shipping the entire kit to the service center, versus pulling from their existing stock of parts.

Yes they installed the towing ap, and kept my aluminum bumper reinforcement they removed. It all works very well.

But I was not overly impressed with that part of dealing with the service department, guess if you want it when you want it there is a surcharge which is somewhat understandable.

ps. Been driving on photons pretty much for a month now, until I get the 3rd battery installed for the house solar, i don't have enough storage for the 50-60+ KWH per day it is making when sunny.

With the model Y I can use the car phone ap and only charge the car when the house batteries are full or solar exceeds the house use.

Many other Chinese car manufacturers are hard at work on solid-state batteries. In October last year, Chery said it currently has solid-state battery prototypes with an energy density of 400 Wh/kg, and expects to increase this to 500 Wh/kg. It plans to install these new batteries into cars in 2026 before beginning large-scale production the following year. Chery says these batteries could give its EVs up to 932 miles (1,500 km) of range on a single charge.

Am not going to hold my breath.

Similar announcements have come out monthly since I started paying attention in 2007.

There is a lot of money and resources being thrown at solid state battery technology. I think it's only a matter of time before we see results. The predictions are getting closer all the time.

Yeah, hate to say it, but reminds me of Toyota's never ending claims that in a couple years they will have Solid state Battery vehicles on their lots or the Science community- in 20 years we will have production fusion reactors.

I still hope these things happen, but not holding my breathe either.
