There was someone that lived a few miles west of Good Hope Illinois that had a setup roughly 1/8 scale train setup in a simple oval loop. It was maybe an eighth to a quarter mile of track total. I don’t think it’s still there but have not looked for it lately.

On August 8th, 1951. The notes on the back indicate this is a departure from Duluth MN. Soo power sure looked sharp. Lake Superior is just to the right.. Cut rock on the left side is something to see. What would the netting or cables in the center be for?

The hanging ropes are to warn a brakeman, on top of a car, that a tunnel or bridge is about to knock him off the car if he stays there.
