Found a guy in South Africa making aftermarket exhaust for the bike. About $1k to procure, but they sound amazing. It already has a race ECM from the previous owner/exhaust setup, so the fueling should be close.

Full confession, I've only ridden a few old school Harleys, but the one I got to ride for about 40 miles was an Eric Buehl 1984 FXR. It vibrated like he'll until you got up to about 80mph, then it smoothed out. I couldn't have ridden it much further.
One guy I worked with bought one of the last non currents, way back for cheap. Never got to ride it, but it was Harley engined.

Got the new Hinson clutch pack installed. Every bolt that comes off, gets polished before it goes back on.
Waiting on USPS to find my gasket and oil seals for the alternator side, so I can button that up.

I wish, for use its getting milder but still below freezing and we have a other 8'' in the forecast for Wednesday but as soon as I get some nice days above 40*F with bare asphalt I am taking her out.

I try to wait until they sweep all the sand (pebbles) off the road. Still have to be careful turning at corners as they do a poor job.

Around here on the Town roads and even many of the County roads that wouldn't be untill the snow plows were running again. Plus the farm traffic that brings mud and manure out on the roads at times.

Down south, what made corners greasy was when we had a cricket population explosion, at night they would be attracted to the street lights on the corners. Then they would get squished by cars. A little morning dew or a slight rain, and guys were wiping out in the corners.

"Crickets"..... often what I say, when I ask a question (that desperately needs an answer/decision) @ Work... Not that I plan to ride down your way soon, but I will remember that one K !
Certain things stick.... re-post likely, but here goes..... I remember a guy listing the training he had, and how genuinely focused he was on riding-safe on two wheels.... then describing how he had the front of a big bike of his wash-out, on a dry but busy street-corner, while @ low-speed. It was a naked DVD, label-side down, that the front tire skated away on.
Grey-pavement, sun @ "right" angle ( or a bit of cloud cover), busy road, pedestrian suddenly darts across your path while you are turning.... no problem, I have space, just a bit of brake... Whoooooshhhhh......
Those crazy little details, that sometimes align.....

We have the same situation with the caterpillars on their prime cycle when they cross the road and get squish it become slippery as ice… I have knobby tires so i am not sure how much it would affect me …Although i would still slow down

Mormon crickets cause plenty of accidents here, crossing the highways by the billions. It's best described as driving on thick grease. The State just puts up "Slick Road" signs and calls it good:

After they've pass on there will be two bands of reddish-brown grease where the tires crushed them:
The State's solution. These things will also devastate crops and gardens, leaving nothing behind but the Government says they are "part of the ecosystem" and we just have to put up with them.
These things grow to be nearly 3" long and here's what's left of a bush when they attack:
The stench of billions of rotting crickets is enough to make you throw up. They coat the bottom and wheel wells of vehicles so you take that smell and that mess home with you.

Wow, that is awful. I have never seen anything like that. I could imagine rounding a curve and seeing that on the road. Pretty sure the day would be made much worse even if you kept it upright.
