glad pine missed the cabin! that is one fancy chain saw! I'm waiting for a chain saw chain with PCD cutting teeth.Good morning to all who celebrate! 39° going to a high of 67°, sunny, some frost on the truck this morning.
Prayers for all those facing illness, difficult to read about, but I'm praying for good outcomes for all!
Weekend was a busy one, white pine fell up at Grandma's cabin. Missed the cabin by about 4". Grandpa was definitely guiding that one. Their strange neighbor wanted the wood, bucked into 9' sections and then the rest bucked into firewood. I took one look at the tree and knew I wasn't going to be the one loading those 9' sections onto his trailer by hand.
500i made short work of the pine, like a hot knife through butter. By the time most of the help arrived, pine was already bucked up and the logs rolled off to the side for the neighbor to collect later. I did not partake in the sweep-up, having lost my breakfast from grunting those logs onto the side. Trailer for the tractor looks better every time I have to move something heavy by hand. Was rewarded with a hearty vegetable stew and ham sandwich.
Prayers Buppies and Holly.Time for me to get sick 100.5 fever trash can and toilet here I come
Hope they can get her better, for both of y'all's sakes.
Sorry about your squam cell. Prayers for a clean getaway.
Lou, I had mine out maybe 5 years ago. Surgeon wouldn't wait for insurance to settle. Demanded $800 down before operation. I can eat anything again within a couple of months. I have backed off the super spicy foods, but occassionally still have some.Morning all;
Thanks for all the well wishs, Got home late afternoon yesterday.
Supposed to only lift 15 pounds for two weeks, we'll see how that goes.
It is quite amazing when they finally decided it was time to operate,
they needed to wait for the Xarelto to get out of my system, so they waited to Sunday to remove the gallbladder.
When they put me under I'm slow waking up apparently. Amazing 5 little cuts to remove an organ and able to walk that same day. But 3 days of a clear liquid diet was a royal pain. Then all the warnings about the dire straights I'd be in if I don't follow their diet plans for a few weeks.
But up walking and complaining is good, still waiting for an oncology appointment, getting a bit antsy about that.
All get better and stay safe
Hope and pray you get better.
Yes! Happy birthday Drew!Happy Birthday Drew !!![]()
Glad you and daughters all had a good time. My 19 yo is still young (IMO) and I still preach to her about what to watch out for in life. She does not like me preaching to her. Don't know if I can ever shut my trap. Just trying to save her from bad predicaments. She's had a few. But she's a great safe driver, hard worker and beautiful....a bit sassy at this age but I still love her to bits.Had a nice get together will all the daughters late yesterday. A nice surprise.
Measured one of the trees that need to come out. 223 inch circumference. Yeah, it is a big tree. LOL. The two others are half that size. Not looking forward to the mess.
Prolly 2 late, but the samsung switch worked decent for me. I just got the poorboy's A35, and I really love it. I don't know what I'd do if I had the S25. We buy our own phones, and shop our own plans. I got an educational discount on top of a special deal they had going on their phones, but I had to sign up for a Samsung account which was easy. They send me offers via email.41 going to 58. Yesterday had an unusual easterly cool wind all day. Felt like the beach in winter.
Rip, that's a huge tree. White oak or yellow poplar or something else?
Scotty, nice porches.
Leeches. I had never seen one until a couple of years ago when I finished swimming in the river and had the bugger attached to my calf. What a surprise. I just yanked it off.
Ron, that roof is a piece of art. You guys know what you are doing.
Did my own taxes for a change yesterday instead of others'. Wish I hadn't. Ouch on how much we owe...need to up the withholding. I still have one more tax return to do, for my wife's mom who passed away last year.
Then went back to work on clearing brush out of an old lespedeza food plot...had one discovery, an apple tree I had planted many years ago. Dragged dozens of small trees to make a new wildlife brush pile and then dug holes for planting the elderberries. Need to clear off one more area and dig holes for planting Scotch pines. Then do all planting at once. I've definitely stirred up some old sleeping muscles.
When I changed our cell phone plan last week to reduce cost and got the "free" Samsung S25 phones, the new ones were delivered the next business day by UPS. Fast. But I haven't had time to set them up. I need to transfer all the old data, contacts, calendar, photos and apps from the old S22 phones. There is an app from Samsung called Smart Switch. Anyone used it and have any feedback?
Ron, the roof looks great as do the pics. Thank you.
I drove by the cemetery where Mikim is buried today. Not a normal road I take, but bad traffic diverted me. It is called Alum Creek Cemetary. About 25 miles away from me.
I've been working on getting some old stuff running and trying to get ready to sell it. Old 2003 Impala, looks really good cleaned up but has a P0300 misfire code. Not sure if it is bad gas or what since it has been sitting. Son helped me wash and clean the wheels. It runs decent until you give it a large amount of throttle while driving. Could be vacuum leak, clogged converter, bad fuel, any number of things. Hard to diagnose. Not giving an individual cylinder misfire code.
Also getting the old Deere HPX Gator fixed up and running. Son polished the plastic. It needs a battery too....and a carb cleaning.
Have enjoyed the nice weather, a bit breezy on Friday and Saturday. Got some short M/C rides in the last 3 days. About 15-25 miles each.
Our church is having a big garage sale, there is a large animal trap I want to buy. Coyote size.
Popgadget, The Byrds Eight miles high comes to mind.
Been off for the whole of last week. Took mom to 3 appointments last Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. She has 20/200 in each eye and is now declared legally blind for what it's worth. I made her the eye appt to find out, the doctor had the paper ready when we got there and said she didn't even have to give her an eye test. Not sure it will help with anything as far as support in the future or not.
Mom did get a good monthly raise. The social security fairness act worked in her favor finally. Since 1992, social security has penalized her for getting her state teacher's retirement benefit. She has had to live on a near poverty level amount of money for over 30 years. They only back payed her back to Jan 2024.
I know I've missed some posts and happenings being out of the loop.
Prayers for the team, our nation, Israel and Ukraine. Peace in this world.
