Tough on tires!

I know some people that are much like the Honey Locust...

I'd rather deal with the trees...
Extremely tough on tires. Thorns are rock hard and will easily penetrate boots, tires, leather gloves and
multiple clothing layers. Once taken down, I poison the stump or it will grow back.
I use the tractor bucket instead of the grappel because the thorns will hang up on the grappel teeth.
Supposed to be good firewood when seasoned and good BTU output, but by the time I've dealt with
the dang things I just want to get rid of it.
I'm taking down another nasty tree this afternoon. Wish me luck.

I've taken down a few more locusts trees since Thursday post. However, I thought this
tree take down was a bit different for "seat time". High winds wrecked havoc on a lot of
trees in my woods. This tree was split off the trunk and hung up in the limbs/branches
of nearby trees. Problem? If in deep woods I'd let it go to fall etc on its own. But this is
right next to my road/path to my back pastures. Too dangerous to leave.

What part of the country are you located in Mr. 1 Old Man?

We've got your Honey Locust in Northern PA, but none on my property...Thankfully!

Before I took down that split trunk cedar in above post.
I had taken out this Honey Locust mess of twisted, nastiness.
I'll cut bigger limbs and trunk off Monday and poison it to
finish up.

It looks close enough to a T-Rex that I may not sleep well tonight..!

I rented an auger for the mini skid steer to plant some trees. It worked so good that I called the rental company and told them I wanted to keep it forever. For $2000 for the auger and a 3 bit set they actually agreed to my request.
