Ha! And you thought you were through? There is no end.

Yes, I know this is the truth of it!

There is actually another project queued -- need to set up the drip irrigation system. Not that we need it these days - another big day of rain today.

Something to consider is that when metal is used to hold wood together that rots away, the pieces of metal may end up in your garden.

Garden update...

The beds are all filled with dirt at this point (boy that was a lot of work!). I believe all but one bed is planted.

Brassicas are doing well. Potatoes seem really happy. The muscadine grape vine we planted in one of the outer beds is doing really well too - looks like a bunch of little grapes starting to grow. Tomatoes have a lot of growing to do, but they all handled the transplant all right it seems.

Got the drip irrigation all wired in with valves on the outside of the fence. So we can control everything without having to go into the garden, which is nice.

Excited to see how things look in a month...

I have some old cone tomato cages and like the square tall ones I got a few years ago.
If I had to replace the cones, I would probably just buy thick wire and weld it. I agree the new "improved" versions around the stores here is pretty wimpy.

It's looking good!!!

My wife pulled an onion and some celery from the garden yesterday to use in a soup she made. Nothing compares to picking and eating it in a meal!!!

Grape flowers look just like a mini cluster of grapes

and unsurprisingly show up quite a bit before the grapes themselves

Way to come in and kill my excitement :).

Yeah, it's probably just the flowers, but I'm going to believe it's grapes until proven otherwise!

Wow! We have lettuce and spinach we can harvest for salads or for hamburgers the other night, but I'm impressed y'all already have onions and celery ready to go.

We've got celery leftover from last year. Apparently it grows for two years?
I'm not into the stuff raw, but I have to say I've never had tastier soups than with this home-grown celery. It's almost spicy.
Strongly recommend growing some.
