55-60 HP CHOICES

You might expand your search to New Holland. I ran into a good deal on a low hour T2410 (55 hp). I'm very impressed with the loader, hydraulics are strong and relatively fast. even on lower throttle settings. I have used it to push down or dig up a lot of small trees and pushed a lot of logs. One thing that is hard to get used to is the throttle setting. PTO speed is just about wide open. The throttle pedal is by the right brakes, but I usually set the throttle on the dash lever. My heavy 8 ft. bushog is a little too big, but usable. No problem at all lifting it, but just slow in cutting heavy grass. I highly recommend changing the real wheels by just swapping sides so they track wider. Like all compacts, the tractor felt too unstable on hillsides until I did that.

Are those 55 HP New Holland still LS models or are they actually NH? Not sure where the LS ends and NH begins.

Sorry, Not sure. There is nothing about LS on the decals, but haven't looked at the Serial No. plate. I do know there is a 60 hp model on the same frame. Mine has manual 4 speed, 3 ranges and a nice shuttle shift.

New Holland T2410 is Shibaura built, it predates LS built New Holland models.

To add
The TYM does indeed make a very smooth running engine. Our 25 and 26 series Mahindras were basically a TYM. It was one of my favorites.
TYM has simply bought up Branson and did not make your problem child Branson at the time.
That being said, it is human nature to be dissuaded with a product if one had troubles with it. It does not necessarily earmark future products of that same company. It, for all intents and purposes, cannot be a predictor in any sense of the word, akin to being able what's going to happen to you 6 months from now.

I have seen good and bad with the exact same product and not just for our line, but within the entire industry.
It is why I tell people to buy attributes of the dealership first because of convenience, integrity, service record and customer satisfaction.
When ppl ask me "will this tractor last"? I say to them "I have no idea". There are a lot of dependencies to that question and not the least of which are the owners themselves as to how they treat and use their equipment.
I continue to say "keep your fingers crossed and hope nothing bad happens to your new tractor". "But if anything does, we will hold your hand to obtain what you think is an exemplary and satisfying outcome".
Is it what ppl want to hear as an answer to their question?...not really. But I am not going to spew any "salesman" talk that attempts to cover reality of what life can throw.

I have 2013 LS 5030C with about 1300 hours on it and it has a Mitsubishi 205 cubic inch non turbo 4 cyl 58 hp engine that has been flawless for my small acreage, 2 cuts of hay with 9 foot Haybine and round baler. Many other chores such as plowing, cultivating, box scraper etc. AC& heat during winter snow blowing are excellent. Just thought to way in on my LS experience. Would buy another but at 83 don’t expect I will need to.

Do you have a Msssey dealer near you?
A 2860 or the new 2M60 should fit through your garage door.
I have a 1759, which is a previous model. It fits an 8ft door with industrial tires.
Mine does every bit what I expect from it.

Exactly right. I've seen the same thing happen. Identical models: two good customers, one gets a blessed machine and the other a lemon.
And no way to tell in advance.

but isn't quality control of % good vs defective the top priority of what makes a top manufacturer like Kubota or other stand above the rest? if it's the luck of the draw, then why not get the cheapest unit avail & take your chances? regards

Mostly myth. Like most popular commercial products, marketing has more to do with high sales than anything else.
