Ten years after the American Integrity spent the winter at the cement dock in Duluth, the 1000 footer finds itself back there today, this time to check on a mechanical issue. Assisting were tugs Missouri and North Carolina. The Integrity recently spent over 3 weeks at the pipeline dock in Superior having propeller shaft work done. Duluth, MN - 2015/2025 I'd guess rudder or thruster grief.

Lt. Col Wallace Bandeff, Detroit District Commander, hosted Senator Elissa Slotkin at the Soo Locks today. The visit included briefings on the Soo Locks and New Lock at the Soo project along with a site visit to show her how the Soo Locks operate and a tour of the New Lock at the Soo construction project.

You guys might find this interesting..... A nice footer Friday (1000ft boats) as the Burns Harbor arrived to load ore and in the process passed fleetmate American Integrity moored at the cement dock for a mechanical delay. On the right is the Paul R. Tregurtha also taking a mechanical delay, and in the distance the American Century is arriving for lightering ore off the Integrity. Gus Schauer photo. Quite a photo with 4, 1000footers in it. Despite the hazy sky from forest fire smoke, this view turned out nice as the American Integrity prepared to unload some of its cargo into fleetmate American Century. Thanks to Paul Scinocca for this view of the rare cargo transfer between the American Integrity and American Century in Duluth MN. The AC will be move forward and backward to each hold when loaded. There is wildfire smoke in the air.

Searched but no metrics found for the commercial daily rate for a laker.

American Steamship Co.’s 1,000-footer American Century pulled in next to her sistership American Integrity Friday at the Ash Grove cement dock in Duluth. The loaded Integrity will discharge some of her cargo into the Century so repairs can be made to the American Integrity’s propulsion system.

After the Integrity loaded iron ore pellets at CN, an issue with its propulsion system was discovered while attempting to depart. With a deep draft of 28 feet, the ship required the help of tugs Missouri and North Carolina to be safely moved and secured at this dock, which is rarely used for lakers.

The Integrity recently spent more than three weeks at the pipeline dock in Superior having propeller shaft work done.
